What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

| Once we roared out out Tucumcari we rode past San Jon and the ghost town of Glenrio on the border with Texas. San Jon has a very small population, and Glenrio has a few sections under redevelopment. Next: Boise (& Adrian), TX. |

| ποΈ In relation to the picturesque town/city of Tucumcari, New Mexico, US, there was hardly anything to see east of it. As of June 2026, work was being done in the ghost town of Glenrio to make it a more attractive spot for tourists. A small number of people live by the road going east out of Tucumcari and into the (misshapen) panhandle of Texas. |

| We memorialized our stop at Adiran, the midpoint along Route 66, we rode 40 miles to Amarillo (Spanish word for yellow). Riding past Vega, we rode by the wind farms near Wildorado. Between Wildorado & Amarillo was Bushland, TX. |

| ποΈ Adrian, Texas, US is a notable stop along Old Route 66 precisely because it marks the halfway point between the road's eastern terminus in Chicago and its western terminus in Los Angeles. At least, it did when the sign stating this fact was posted. Over the years the western terminus had been pushed multiple times closer and closer toward the Pacific Ocean until reached its current location at the Santa Monica Pier in Los Angeles. |

| Although Vega is a small town, it had its share of tourist attractions thanks to its presence along Route 66 in its heyday. Once we got some good photographs taken at various spots in Vega, we continued riding to Wildorado, TX. |

Given its location-- on the west side of the Hudson River and opposite the lower end of Manhattan Island-- it's considered the unofficial 6th borough of the 5-borough New York City. Just to take a break from riding through mostly empty areas along that area of Texas, Felix Legion needed a break from routine riding. McLean, further east, could wait. |

| ποΈ Not really a surprise to anyone, it's now considered official that Sanjay Rampersad and Lindsay Etxeberria are vegetarian/vegan. For Sanjay, it's part of his upbringing. For Lindsay, it was more of a political statement even had she not been a far-left activist in the previous phase of her life. David Guardia would have been the logical person to join The Twins and Lionel Odunsi in this "tournament" of gluttony, but both he and newlywed bride Rhonda Bella Guardia are private time maxis; neither wants to do anything which would ruin their time with each other. |

| ποΈ Any carnivore can eat one pound or one kilogram of meat quickly. Eating double those quantities becomes a challenge. Few if any people can consume in one sitting the amount of meat the Brothers Marchenko and Lionel Odunsi ordered for dinner. Some people find themselves getting physically ill from overating. Others end up with The Itis (i.e., "food coma") which can be characteristic for a meal which seemingly never ends. Lionel had both youth and lifestyle on his side. |

Our Heroes-- , downsized, reconfigured, and rechristensed as Felix Legion-- cross into Texas and reach the "midway point" of Old Route 66, but not before passing Amarillo, Texas, US along the way.
Starting with the next Weekly Summary, the daily zapfic serial comes out of its holding pattern to resume forward movement in storytelling. At that time, Felix Legion is in Amarillo, a day or two away from crossing into Oklahoma.
