Hey, guys! It's been a while, right? A lot had happened while I was away but now that I am here, I'm back with another bunch of stories and memories to share! I am and today, I will be sharing to you how me and my friends celebrated our Student's Day and Valentine's Day 2025.
It was a sunny morning when my friends and I arrived at our campus together. What greeted us that morning was the huge tarpaulin plastered at the front part of the covered court and in huge letters it said 'Panagtigom 2025' where it celebrated our Valentine's Day and Student's Day event simultaneously.
The whole covered court was decorated like there was going to be a huge fiesta happening any moment on that day. My friends and I toured around the court and we couldn't help but admire how the student council and the other student organizations designed the whole place with creativity and effort.
The first part of the event in the morning was a Kumustahan program that was going to be led by one of our teachers. I heard it was all about sharing one's love experiences and advices to one another. There were already chairs placed and the bleachers were also cleaned up well for the audience that was going to listen and participate in the event.
On each sides of the court, there were also mini game stalls that offers cute and fun prizes for the winners that would try their luck later during the opening. My friends and I had already planned which mini game we would try our luck to.
But since that morning the event didn't start yet, my friends and I decided to check the stalls that stood outside the covered court. We took a detour and went towards where the stalls were situated.
My heart was dancing with glee the moment I saw that the stalls outside the covered court were mostly foods and drinks. I am really a food lover and seeing all those stalls with a lot of affordable products on their menu made me and my friends salivate and feel excited.
The pathway that day was already bustling with students from different year levels and department but the narrow spaces and noise did not stop me from checking out the menus of each stall. I squished myself through the crowd just to check out what each stall had sold.
There was packed lunch sold, chicken pastil, cupcakes and Filipino delicacies like Bibingka and Budbud, there were also cold drinks like soft drinks and juices, and a lot more to choose from. But what caught my attention, especially my friends, was the stall of Artea—our favorite milktea station.
My friends and I immediately looked at their menu and we were so happy to see a lot of combos on sale. Their downgrade milk teas caught my attention and I never wasted a second in ordering what I wanted. I got a downgrade purple milk tea for myself while my friends got a variety of orders. Some of them ordered for Artea's caramel coffee, others chose pearl and white, and some went for matcha.
After we got our orders, we also tried the other snacks sold like the muffins, cupcakes and also some egg and hotdogs. We were so happy because aside from getting our stomachs full with our snacks, we were also entertained while reading each stall's message board since there were a lot of students who pinned their short messages on each board.
We continued to look around before deciding to go inside the campus and check out what was happening inside. When we heard that there was an art exhibit going on in the library, we did not waste a single moment and we immediately headed there.
The library was packed with students but we still squished our way through. We then learned that the arts displayed in the library were made by the participating students that joined the art contest. There were sketches, oil paintings and portraits. The Normalites of Medellin Campus were really artistic, each art showed how creative and talented they were.
When we were done at the library, we decided to take some rest before going to our next stop. We went inside a vacant classroom and continued to eat the snacks that we bought outside. Each bite was so satisfying because of how tasty the foods were. Of course while we were eating, we also took a picture of ourselves together as a remembrance of that day. We were graduating students and we will never get another chance to celebrate Valentines and Student's Day at the campus together.
After eating, we then went to the Movie Booth where we watched Katheryn Bernardo and Alden Richard's movie that was titled 'Hello, Love, Again'. I couldn't take a photo with my friends inside the booth because it was so dark and I was afraid that if I turned on the flash of my camera, the staff of the booth might kick me out which was going to be a waste of money on my part. So yeah, I just watched the movie, then laughed and cried with my friends.
After the romance movie, we also watched a horror one and I almost kicked my friend's leg after watching the jump scares. I forgot to cover my eyes when the ghost appeared and my friends laughed at how ridiculous I looked at that time. The movie ended around 5 pm and when we got out, there was already a dance competition happening at the covered court.
We did not waste any time and quickly found ourselves some seats to support our classmates that joined the dance competition. We even screamed their names at the top of our lungs but when the results got out, our classmates only got the second place which was still okay. What's important was that their efforts were not wasted and they had fun. Soon, the event finally came to an end and we all went home with huge smile on our faces.
As I made my way home while reminiscing about the events that day, I realized that Valentine's Day is not just about romance because it can also be about the people who stayed with you through ups and down, through your entire journey in life. I also realized that as a graduating student, sometimes studying is not just about grades because it can also be about the memories you built with the people around you. I was really glad that my last Valentines and Student's Day celebration was a blast before I graduate. I had made a lot of memories and surely I will treasure these as time will pass on. That would be all for today's blog! I hope you had fun reading it. See you on the next one!
