I am Max
My name is Max Mabeza, 19 years old and from the Philippines. I'm excited to share my passions with you as a student, photographer, writer, and filmmaker.
My grandmother used to tell me, “Write about the world, your emotions, and whatever you are passionate about. There will always be someone, even at least one, who will read it out loud for it is something you wrote. That’s your power, be free.”
As a student, I am always eager to learn and expand my knowledge, big time! I suppose I have got this weird obsession with learning new things, a lot of it doesn't even make sense (At least to other people, but to me, It's closest to feeling alive). I tend to try a bunch of hobbies for the sake of understanding how it works. I believe that education is a lifelong journey, and I am constantly seeking out new information and experiences to broaden my horizons. Whether I'm studying a new subject or taking on a challenging project, I am always up for the task, never backing down, every experience is an experience worth keeping. Well, I guess we’ll never know how long our physical body will last until the universe takes us out of mortality.
Photography has been a passion of mine for many years. I love the way a single photograph can tell a story or capture a moment in time. Through my lens, I strive to convey the beauty and complexity of the world around us. Whether I'm capturing the grandeur of nature or the intimacy of a portrait, I am always looking for ways to push the boundaries of my craft. Pictures are closest to immortalizing a certain emotion, to remember, to feel, to love.
Writing is another creative outlet that I am deeply passionate about. I believe that words have the power to inspire, challenge, and connect us to one another. Through my writing, I hope to share my experiences, insights, and perspectives with others, while also exploring new ideas and perspectives. I happened to realize later in high school that I find it hard to open up to people, having to experience emotional invalidation and judgment. However, if people actually care for probably a day or two, then they won’t anymore. Damn, so be it, I’ll write about all the emotions there is for me to experience, tears and fears, blues and dooms, firmity and frailty.
I know deep within me, I'll never get to a point of thinking this way if I wasn't able to encounter such feelings. There will always be some part of, thankful for life's turbulence, for it pushes me to become a better person, to be the best. May it take forever for the world to understand how to be kind, but it will never be impossible to meet a few goodnesses. One of which, I get to experience being taught by a really cool professor during my high school phase, . He introduced me here, a platform and
to share my unhinged sentiments with the world.
Finally, as a filmmaker, I am drawn to the art of storytelling through the medium of film. I believe that film has the ability to transport us to new worlds and challenge our perceptions of reality. Whether I'm creating a short film or a full-length feature, I am always looking for ways to push the boundaries of visual storytelling.
In each of these areas, I am always striving to grow and develop my skills. I believe that the intersection of these disciplines offers endless possibilities for creativity and self-expression, and I am excited to share my journey with you. I’m here to let you know that life is an endless loop of Life’s conundrums, and we all have a whole lifetime to figure out how to escape the matrix. Beauty in mortality. I hope you’ll enjoy going through this with me on this adventure!
