Conociendo el hermoso Jardim Botânico de Curitiba 🪴🇧🇷 ¡Patrimonio Cultural de la Ciudad! [ESP-ENG]

Una de las primeras cosas que descubrí sobre Curitiba cuando estaba investigando sobre esta ciudad antes de mudarme es que es una ciudad no solo enorme y moderna sino también muy turística, pues, en ella alberga una infinidad de puntos turísticos que destacan como los más bonitos no solo del estado sino también de Brasil y eso sin duda fue algo que me emocionó mucho.

One of the first things I discovered about Curitiba when I was researching the city before moving here is that it's not only a huge and modern city but also a very touristy one. It boasts countless tourist attractions that stand out as some of the most beautiful not only in the state but also in all of Brazil, and that definitely excited me.

Realmente desde que llegué a Curitiba no he tenido el tiempo suficiente para conocer cada rincón y punto turístico de la ciudad pero es algo que siempre he querido hacer y aunque son pocos los lugares que ya he conocido han sido experiencias muy bonitas y uno de ellos y de mis favoritos hasta ahora fue el famoso Jardim Botânico, uno de los lugares más emblemáticos de la ciudad.

Since arriving in Curitiba, I haven't had enough time to explore every corner and tourist spot in the city, but it's something I've always wanted to do. Although I've only visited a few places so far, they've been wonderful experiences, and one of my favorites to date is the famous Botanical Garden, one of the city's most iconic landmarks.

Para ponerlos un poco en contexto les hablaré un poco sobre el Jardim Botânico antes de contarles mi experiencia. El Jardim Botânico de Curitiba fue inaugurado en el año 1991 y es considerado como el principal símbolo de la ciudad, no solo turístico sino como emblema. Está compuesto por un área de 245.000 m², los cuales albergan naturaleza y biodiversidad en conservación ofreciendo maravillosos paisajes y un ambiente 100% natural.

To give you some context, I'll tell you a little about the Botanical Garden before sharing my experience. The Curitiba Botanical Garden was inaugurated in 1991 and is considered the city's main symbol, not only for tourism but also as an emblem. It covers an area of 245,000 m², which houses nature and biodiversity in conservation, offering wonderful landscapes and a 100% natural environment.

Es literalmente un jardín botánico, por lo que cuenta con una infinidad de plantas y flores por toda su extensión ubicadas en puntos específicos del parque. El punto principal del jardín es la famosa gran estufa, la cual es también el icono de la ciudad.

It is literally a botanical garden, so it boasts countless plants and flowers scattered throughout the park, located in specific areas. The garden's centerpiece is the famous large greenhouse, which is also an icon of the city.

Pero antes de llegar a la gran estufa debemos recorrer un largo camino compuesto por inmensas áreas verdes y una hermosa laguna. En el camino nos encontramos un pequeño monumento llamado Portal del Luz con una placa en homenaje a los inmigrantes israelitas que llegaron al estado de Paraná, quienes sobrevivieron al holocausto durante la segunda guerra mundial y llegaron a Paraná a hacer una nueva vida.

But before reaching the large stove, we must travel a long path through immense green areas and past a beautiful lagoon. Along the way, we find a small monument called the Portal of Light with a plaque in homage to the Israeli immigrants who arrived in the state of Paraná, survivors of the Holocaust during World War II, and came to Paraná to build a new life.

Avanzando un poco llegamos al Jardim Francês, una de las áreas más famosas y fotografiadas del jardín botánico. Este es un jardín perfectamente geométrico, pues, se caracteriza por la poda perfecta de las áreas verdes formando un diseño simétrico que a la vista es simplemente hermoso. El formato de este jardín está inspirado en los jardines de los palacios franceses del siglo XVII, es de allí que proviene el nombre de esta área del parque.

Walking a little further, we arrive at the Jardim Francês (French Garden), one of the most famous and photographed areas of the botanical garden. This is a perfectly geometric garden, characterized by the precise pruning of the green areas, forming a symmetrical design that is simply beautiful. The layout of this garden is inspired by the gardens of 17th-century French palaces; hence, the name of this area of the park.

Parte del jardín francés son las hermosas flores en el centro, las cuales cada cierto tiempo cambian por unas nuevas pero en ese momento en el que fuimos las que habían eran de color amarillo, otras color vinotinto y otras naranja.

Part of the French garden are the beautiful flowers in the center, which are changed periodically for new ones, but at the time we visited, the ones that were there were yellow, others burgundy, and others orange.

Luego de pasar el Jardim Francês llegamos finalmente a la famosa Gran Estufa, el símbolo emblemático de Curitiba y el corazón del parque. Es una gran estructura de hierro y vidrio compuesta por 3 cúpulas inspirada en el palacio de cristal de Londres.

After passing through the Jardim Francês, we finally arrived at the famous Gran Estufa, the iconic symbol of Curitiba and the heart of the park. It is a large iron and glass structure composed of three domes, inspired by the Crystal Palace in London.

La **Gran Estufa ** tiene la función de invernadero, pues, en su interior alberga diferentes especies de plantas tropicales pertenecientes a la selva atlántica y las costas de Paraná.

The Great Greenhouse serves as a greenhouse, housing various species of tropical plants native to the Atlantic Forest and the Paraná coast.

En la parte interna de este invernadero no solo podemos encontrar las diversas plantas que antes mencioné sino que su estructura cuenta con un par de escaleras que te llevan a la parte superior de la Gran Estufa, lo que te permite observar desde arriba toda la vegetación y apreciar mejor el diseño del Jardim Francês desde lo alto.

Inside this greenhouse, you'll find not only the diverse plants mentioned earlier, but also a pair of staircases leading to the top. This allows you to observe all the vegetation from above and better appreciate the design of the French Garden from a higher vantage point.

Seguimos nuestro recorrido hasta la Galería das 4 estações, ubicada detras de la Gran Estufa con la forma de un semicirculo que rodea la parte trasera de esta. El recorrido por esta galería es bastante interesante, pues, este está dividido en 4 secciones, representando cada estación del año, donde cada estación posee flores y plantas de su época las cuales puedes admirar durante el recorrido además de las diferentes sensaciones y colores.

We continued our tour to the Gallery of the Four Seasons, located behind the Great Stove, shaped like a semicircle that surrounds its back. The tour through this gallery is quite interesting, as it is divided into four sections, each representing a season of the year. Each season features flowers and plants in their season, which you can admire along the way, along with the different sensations and colors.

Luego nos dirigimos al área del Jardim das Sensações, otra parada obligatoria si vas a este lugar turístico, sin embargo, algo que no sabíamos era que este jardín tenía hora de cierre a las 4 PM y ya estábamos fuera de la hora, por lo que no pudimos entrar a esa área.

Then we headed to the Jardim das Sensações area, another must-see if you're visiting this tourist spot. However, something we didn't know was that this garden closes at 4 PM and we were already past that time, so we couldn't enter that area.

Seguimos caminando para hacer el recorrido entero por el parque y nos encontramos con una área cercada en la que se encontraban diferentes especies de animales que forman parte de la fauna de ese parque. Desde la cerca vimos varios de ellos, en su mayoría cutias, que son unos roedores de gran tamaño parecidos a unos conejillos de India pero más grandes. También vimos algunos capibaras y diferentes aves de las cuales desconozco el nombre y especie.

We continued walking to complete the entire tour of the park and came across a fenced area where different animal species that are part of the park's fauna were located. From the fence, we saw several of them, mostly cutias, which are large rodents similar to guinea pigs but bigger. We also saw some capybaras and different birds whose names and species I didn't know.

Pasamos por un hermoso y enorme puente de madera que rodea la laguna del parque, allí nos detuvimos a tomar algunas fotos y a observar los animales en el agua, donde en su mayoría eran peces y garzas.

We crossed a beautiful and enormous wooden bridge that surrounds the park's lagoon, where we stopped to take some photos and observe the animals in the water, which were mostly fish and herons.

Terminamos nuestro recorrido llegando nuevamente al punto de partida, habiendo rodeado todo el parque y parando en cada área para conocerla y disfrutar de ella, a excepción del Jardín de las sensaciones al cual tengo como pendiente ir. Esta sin duda fue una experiencia maravillosa, por suerte el clima de ese día fue de gran ayuda para disfrutar aún más de nuestra visita. Fue una caminata bastante larga la que tuvimos que hacer para ver cada parte del parque pero créanme que valió por completo la pena.

We finished our tour by returning to our starting point, having circled the entire park and stopped in each area to explore and enjoy it, except for the Garden of Sensations, which I still need to visit. It was undoubtedly a wonderful experience, and luckily the weather that day was perfect for making our visit even more enjoyable. It was quite a long walk to see every part of the park, but believe me, it was completely worth it.
