Hace poco me encargaron hacer un lindo vestido, este lleva la manga de un solo lado con un escote de medio lado, así que fui con mi clienta hasta la tienda de telas y escogimos una hermosa tela roja con destellos brillantes, al llegar a casa, inmediatamente me puse manos a la obra, de esta chica ya tenía un patrón anterior de un vestido que le había hecho así que será un poco más fácil confeccionarlo, aquí les dejo la lista de materiales a utilizar :

• 1,5 m de tela elástica
• Tijeras
• Patrón de vestido
• Regla
• tiza para marcar
• Máquina de coser

I was recently commissioned to make a lovely dress. It has a one-shoulder sleeve and a side neckline, so I went with my client to the fabric store and we chose a beautiful red fabric with shimmering sparkles. As soon as I got home, I got to work. I already had a pattern for a dress I had made for this client, so it will be a little easier to sew. Here is the list of materials you will need:

• 1.5 m of stretch fabric
• Scissors
• Dress pattern
• Ruler
• Tailor's chalk
• Sewing machine

Para comenzar la confección de este vestido, vamos a colocar nuestra tela por el lado del revés, doblamos a la mitad al ancho necesario para nuestro vestido, colocamos el patrón sobre la tela y dibujamos todo el contorno, a excepción de la parte superior, esta la podemos cortar recta y hacemos una marca donde finaliza el contorno de manga, luego vamos a extender y allí le vamos a hacer la figura, de un lado, le dibujamos el contorno de manga, la medida de hombro y luego le hacemos la caída hasta la orilla del contorno de manga del otro lado.

Al dibujar el contorno de manga de un lado en donde nos queda el comienzo del hombro, nos dará la forma para hacerle el escote de medio lado, podemos definirlo, haciéndole una semi curva , en mi caso,
para la parte de atrás lo haré un poco más alto, para la parte delantera, se lo hice un poco más abajo, también vamos a cortar fondo para la parte superior del vestido para cada lado y embonarlo, esta la podemos dejar de un ancho de 20 cm desde la orilla del contorno de manga.

By drawing the sleeve outline on one side where the shoulder begins, we can create the shape for the side neckline. We can define it by making a semi-curve. In my case,
for the back, I'll make it a little higher, and for the front, I made it a little lower. We'll also cut a lining for the top of the dress on each side and attach it. We can leave this 20 cm wide from the edge of the sleeve outline.

Para el siguiente paso vamos a cortar la manga de nuestro vestido, para este le tomé la medida a la chica, ya que ella quiere que le quede bastante ajustada, el largo de esta será de 62 cm, el ancho a la altura de los codos será de 12 cm y a la altura de la muñeca será de 10 cm , como Costurera siempre cometemos errores y aquí tuve un error, me reí mucho cuando me di cuenta que corté dos mangas, ja ja, por suerte la tela era suficiente.

For the next step, we're going to cut the sleeve of our dress. I took the girl's measurements for this, since she wants it to be quite fitted. The length will be 62 cm, the width at the elbows will be 12 cm, and at the wrist it will be 10 cm. As a seamstress, we always make mistakes, and here I made one. I laughed a lot when I realized I cut two sleeves, ha ha. Luckily, there was enough fabric.

En este paso vamos a comenzar con las costuras, unimos el forro con cada parte del vestido por el contorno del busto y espalda, le paso Overlook y luego costura recta, luego unimos por los hombros en forma recta, tanto la tela de forro como la del vestido en mis imágenes, les muestro cómo debe quedar, luego colocamos por el lado derecho, y así ya tenemos la primera parte del vestido

In this step we'll begin with the seams. We'll join the lining to each part of the dress along the bust and back edges. I'll use an overlock stitch and then a straight stitch. Next, we'll join the lining and dress fabrics at the shoulders in a straight line. In my images, I'll show you how it should look. Then we'll turn it right side out, and that's how we get the first part of the dress.

La parte que más tardo en las costuras es para definir el patrón del modelo de prenda que vaya a hacer, luego cuando ya me toca hacer las costuras, me resulta bastante rápido, para este vestido ya nos falta las costuras por los laterales, aseguro pasándole Overlook en la orilla del contorno de manga, en la orilla de la tela de fondo y la orilla para los ruedos, tanto en la manga como en la parte inferior del vestido, así ya está listo este hermoso vestido en color rojo, para los ruedos tengo que esperar encontrarme con la clienta, ya que ella debe definir el largo que desea.

The most time-consuming part of sewing is defining the pattern for the garment I'm going to make. Then, when it's time to do the actual sewing, it's quite quick. For this dress, we only need to finish the side seams. I'm securing them by overlocking the edge of the sleeve outline, the edge of the background fabric, and the hem, both on the sleeve and the bottom of the dress. This beautiful red dress is now ready. For the hem, I have to wait to meet with the client, since she needs to decide on the desired length.
