Hello Hive Community,

thanks to Hive account@katrin-lux who led me to this platform - I am very grateful for it and am curious what is waiting for me here. Here I would like to share with you my travel adventures, and I still have many more to come! I am looking forward to becoming a part of the Hive Community and would like to introduce myself here.

Short introduction

My name is Mary (Mareen in German), I live in Germany, better said near the sea, in the north of Germany. That's where I moved to study, actually I come from the Ruhrpott (Ruhr area);). There I study medicine and I'm about halfway through my studies and very thankful for it. In my free time I try to travel as much as possible because that is my passion. Getting to know new people and cultures, good food, great landscapes - what could be better? I'm especially drawn to warm places, where there's sun and sea. Here in the north it is always quite cold, especially in winter, but also in general, the more glad I am when I can travel to the south or other continents. But every now and then I also like to go to more wintry places.

Here are a few facts about me:

Outside of Europe, I've only been to two other continents: Australia/Oceania and Asia. But I really want to explore Africa and the Americas soon. Here I imagine especially Cape Town (where a friend of mine also lives) and South America as beautiful destinations. What exactly I would like to see from South America, I could not decide yet;). I am really looking forward to it.
During the semester breaks I usually work as a lifeguard. I am always happy to help other people and I love to take responsibility.
My favorite hobbies are swimming, traveling, reading books, cooking and baking. Here I have already discovered one or the other cool community for me;)
What's good for me: Nice in-depth conversations about anything, including politics, sports, and I'm generally very happy out in nature:)

As far as my future is concerned, I'm not so sure yet where it will lead me. Maybe I'll stay in Germany, but I can also imagine that I might be drawn to the south. I'm curious what the future will bring;)

Why I want to get involved in the Hive community and become a part of it

Since 2017, I have been working on the topics of blockchain, cryptocurrencies and everything that goes with it. But only as a hobby, because I am quite busy with my studies. I think it's great that Hive gives you the opportunity to become a part of the blockchain world through blogging. And that in a decentralized way. Decentralization and censorship resistance has been a very big topic for me in the last few years and to combine that with one of my favorite hobbies, traveling, I imagine is very nice. And that right at the beginning you write in a community and not just "for yourself" on your own blog / on your own website. I am very much looking forward to exchange with you and to read through your travel reports or articles. Of course I'm also interested in communities that are not only about traveling. I am generally very begesiterungsfähig and an open person who is interested in many new things and approaches things without bias. At least that's how my friends describe me;)
