Coquette Heart in cold porcelain (esp/eng)

Hoy vengo con un tutorial al mejor estilo Coquette, a mí particularmente me encanta esta tendencia, me parece tan romántica, delicada y femenina y como estoy cosiendo algunos lazos en tela satín de este mismo estilo, necesitaba un aplique para el centro que no solo adornara, sino que además lo complementara llenándolo de personalidad, así se me ocurrió un corazón, pero no podía ser liso solamente, por lo que este tiene un hermoso borde tipo mantel decorativo y si tu amas esta tendencia tanto como yo, me acompañarás en este post para inspirarte con el paso a paso.

Hello, my dear creative Hivers! Today I’m bringing you a tutorial in true Coquette style. I personally love this trend—it feels so romantic, delicate, and feminine. Since I’m sewing some satin ribbons in this same style, I needed an appliqué for the center that would not only decorate it but also complement it, giving it plenty of personality. so I came up with a heart, but it couldn’t just be plain, so this one has a beautiful decorative tablecloth-style border. Materiales:

• Porcelana fría
• Pegamento blanco
• Estecas
• Pinceles
• Top coat mate
• Lámpara UV/LED

Procedimiento:

Iniciamos formando una bolita de porcelana fría del color que deseamos que tenga el corazón y luego le daremos forma gota invertida rodándola sobre sí misma a la vez de que aplicamos un poco de presión en uno de sus extremos.

Materials:

• Cold porcelain
• White glue
• Modeling tools
• Brushes
• Matte top coat
• UV/LED lamp

Procedure:

Start by rolling a small ball of cold porcelain in the color you want the heart to be, then shape it into an inverted teardrop by rolling it on itself while applying a little pressure to one end.

Ahora, con ayuda de unas tijeras, realizaremos un pequeño corte en la parte superior de la pieza, es decir, en el lado más amplio.

Now, using a pair of scissors, we’ll make a small cut at the top of the piece—that is, on the widest side.

Humedeciendo un poco la superficie (si es necesario), iremos dando forma redondeada a estas “orejitas” que acabamos de formar en el paso anterior, también podemos apoyarnos con estecas o pinceles hasta lograr la figura deseada de corazón.

Moisten the surface slightly (if necessary), and shape the “little ears” we just formed in the previous step into a rounded shape; you can also use modeling tools or brushes to help achieve the desired heart shape.

Lo siguiente será formar el borde decorativo y para ello tomaremos un poco de porcelana fría, puede ser del mismo tono del corazón o de algún otro color que le contraste y procederemos a hacer una tira lo suficientemente larga como para cubrir el perímetro del corazón.

Next, we’ll create the decorative border. To do this, take a small amount of cold porcelain—it can be the same shade as the heart or a contrasting color—and shape it into a strip long enough to cover the entire perimeter of the heart.

En la siguiente imagen verán que el corazón es de otro color y es que estaba haciendo varias piezas, por lo que terminé confundiéndome al retomar mi trabajo y continué el tutorial con otra de las piezas, pero el proceso es el mismo así que no se enojen conmigo porfis (risas). Continuando con el proceso, una vez que añadimos el borde al corazón, cortamos y retiramos cualquier excedente y con un pincel delgado un poco húmedo, suavizamos la unión donde realizamos el corte para que todo se vea continuo.

In the next image, you’ll see that the heart is a different color—I was working on several pieces at once, so I got a little confused when I picked up where I left off and continued the tutorial with one of the other pieces. But the process is the same, so please don’t be mad at me (laughs). Continuing with the process, once we’ve added the border to the heart, we cut and remove any excess, and with a slightly damp, thin brush, we smooth out the seam where we made the cut so that everything looks seamless.

Para dar ese efecto de bordado tipo mantel, tomaremos una esteca o herramienta muy delgada y haremos presión en el borde hacia adentro, hacia el corazón, para que se formen ondulaciones por así decirlo, debemos hacerlo a distancias lo más similares posibles, buscando la simetría.

To create that tablecloth-style embroidered effect, take a very thin tool and press the edge inward, toward the center, to create a wavy pattern, so to speak. Do this at intervals that are as consistent as possible, aiming for symmetry.

Y para dar aún más detalles, con la esteca de bolita tamaño súper pequeñita, haremos presión en el centro de cada ondulación formando agujeritos, obteniendo así más efecto de bordado y más vibra coquette.

And to go into even more detail, using the super-tiny ball-tipped needle, we’ll apply pressure to the center of each wave to create tiny holes, giving it a more embroidered look and a flirty vibe.

Cuando ya han secado completamente las piezas, barnizamos con top coat de acabado mate y curamos en lámpara el tiempo necesario.

Once the pieces are completely dry, we apply a matte-finish top coat and cure them under a lamp for the required amount of time.

Finalmente, colocamos el aplique de corazón en el lazo coquette y este es el hermoso resultado final:
