TODAY, I SWEAR TO START COOKING OR PREPARING MY OWN FOOD!
Hi, Steemheads!
Today, in Facebook, tagged me in a post about the benefits of cucumber and it reminded me of how I want to start to cook and prepare my own food. If you know me, you probably know that I have stage 5 kidney failure. My 2 kidneys are too far gone and that's why I depend on a machine to live, a dialysis machine.
One reason why I got this ill was the food I ate for a decade. I lived alone and ate mostly takeouts and fastfoods loaded with crap. Now, 2 years or so after being on dialysis, I need to eat healthy to prolong what's left of me. So, this is a start.
Other than for health reasons, I also want to save the money I spend for buying food outside. I am certain I want to adopt the Mamanwa tribe we visited (the topic of my Day 1 post) so, I need to have a portion of everything I earn and I save and also for my upcoming transplant. There's a lot of people out there that needs help, we should think about helping.
(My boyfriend told me I should not make long posts because they're too lengthy to read so I'll make this quick.)
For today, I had the usual family prepared meals, mainly fish and rice and some veggies. I managed to make my snacks which was just coleslaw sandwich. We have a lot of mangoes in our backyard so I made mango float, too. I did not cook anything because cooking is something I will have to figure out yet.
As to aesthetics or how to make food look lovely in pictures, I'll have to figure it out. I am currently doing all this in my worktable or my workbench and I love how it has this green leaf table cloth or whatever you call it. So, this is one of my Green goals for this year, TO COOK OR PREPARE MY OWN HEALTHY FOOD!
This post is just 2nd of 365 posts I will do the whole year, dedicated to going Green and sharing Humanity. If you think you wanna make a similar challenge to yourself, of course, you can join and do the same thing, too!
Join me, in my 2019 journey. Thanks for reading and I hope we all can share in Steemit the little things we learn in life as we go along. I wish you all to have a meaningful and prosperous new year!
