Hello lovelies!
This community is so busy and I'm happy that HANDMADE and (homemade) is something a lot of people still love to do. 💛💚💙
Like I said in my previous posts, I love crafts but I don't really have time to create as I would love to! But I do make a lot of crafts with/for my toddler, and that is because this little art time have some benefits for their cognitive development, like fine motor skills and hand eye coordination, it builds critical thinking, creativity.
Working with materials teaches them about colours, shapes and textures. How things work and how they fit together. Craft encourages children to play and experiment in a fun and relaxed environment.
EASTER CRAFTS
EGG HANDMADE CARD
It's really easy to make it and if I only needed 20 minutes with a toddler around "helping" then you can imagine how fast you can do it.
You need:
- colored paper, many types.
We have a lot of craft paper with all kind of models, dots, flowers, colors etc. If you don't have it, you can paint some and then cut it into long stripes.
- you also need glue and white paper
INSTRUCTIONS? You don't need them, really.
1. Cut the colored paper intro long stipes.
2. Draw the outline of an egg to white paper.
3. Put glue on the white paper with the egg on it. I used double-sided adhesive tape for crafts.
4. Put the stripes of colored paper on top of the glue and then cut what it comes out. You'll have an egg now!
Look at these tiny hands!
They are at work now!
I love his creativity and his patience to create with me. He was in charge. He got to chose which stripe goes where. I always leave him to 'lead the road'. That's how they build fine motor skills and dextirity, creativity and so much more.
These are the eggs! They are quite big! I love how they turned out.
Only after you cut them in the shape of an egg, you glue them on white paper, to create some nice handmade cards like the ones we did!
We gave these to the family on Easter day.
THE CROSSING OF JESUS
We are Christians so we do celebrate Easter in its true meaning. So we did this CROSS to put in in the window or to use it for a handmade card.
You'll need:
- colored crepe paper
- glue
- waxed paper (for the cross) but I think that fine cardboard or thick paper also works.
Some easy instructions:
1. Cut the crepe paper into small squares.
2. Apply glue to the cross-cut wax paper.
3. Put the pieces of crepe paper on the cross.
4. And finally, cut all the edges that come out.
Thank you so much for reading!
Hopefully these are useful for you and you can actaully try them out at home with your kids!
Let me know if you'll make them! I would love to see hot they turned out for you!
Have a great day everyone!
love,
