The first time I heard of writer's block was on this blockchain. I had to look up the words on Google then before realizing that one can experience a standstill in writing, be it for blogging or other purposes.
A lot of people have given their opinions and suggestions as to how they overcome writer's block, even though some persons have some things in common; what works for one may not really work for the other.
Before now I had often walked about my streets most evenings to pick up new ideas from the street. Being a fashion designer, you get to see different designs on people passing by. I'd also love to get new sewing ideas while I walk the streets.
It looks like we all need newer and fresher ideas always.
Another thing I had often done was to read a lot of books. Through the multitude of readings, we can pick up ideas from different books and put them into our own writings. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks was a statement that kept ringing in my heart. If you don't feed your mind with information, it becomes easily blind and blocked.
I can remember how magazines and newspapers helped me to pick up creative writing ideas, sewing ideas, and ideas on varying cultures. Back then I never knew that the lots I was feeding my eyes with are the reasons I have remained in creative writing this long.
Then, when all of those evening walk hobbies and reading were put aside due to overactivity and responsibility sucking up my time in other aspects, it was time to be on the lookout for newer ideas in other dimensions.
#Inleo came up as a very useful tool against writer's blocks. Every single topic I came across was an eye-opener. Some topics made me eager to write, while others put a demand on me to study more. I have to do some quick research to gain more knowledge and insight about these topics before making a proper presentation of them in write-ups. It may be a difficult task sometimes, but in the end I will be glad to have written content on something I had little or no prior knowledge of before.
The #hive Blockchain in itself is enough of a site/tool to kill any form of writer's block. Have you gone through the thousands of blogs that pass through this blockchain daily? When you engage and read through them, you will be exposed to knowledge in different fields and dimensions. Someone blogs about their local food; you read and get inspired to blog about your local food too. It may be something different or similar from your own countryside.
There is a whole lot to learn and pick up from being on Hive, and I have written thousands of blogs already, both from connecting here and picking inspiration, styles , design, and knowledge from other Hive users. Some are really quality blogs I look back on and feel satisfied, while others are random shenanigans 😀. I am ever so grateful for coming onboard a web3 social media chain such as this.
