It is realistic to achieve some goals when the conditions all around are favorable. Sample of an unrealistic goal for any adult or youth to own $10k worth of property, business value, or assets in a country where youths are jobless, receiving menial salaries ($30 minimum wage), or subjected to high tax unless they receive a special kind of assistance (grants or loans) in their business endeavors. Stop putting too much expectation on people trying to pass the time in a country with harsh economic policies. Expecting too much from people when the means is unavailable can lead to frustration, depression and too much stress.
It is not an uncommon thing for us as individuals to assign timing to all the specific goals of our lives. We wish to achieve some things at some point. Our parents are also on the lookout, hoping to see us get settled early. We wish to attain certain financial stability at a specific age, not minding if there are external factors that may contribute to this. For instance, while some people keep in mind the economic situation of their countries while planning and setting certain goals, others just want to make it by all means regardless of whatever happens.
A lot of us should by now understand what it means when we make out and set our financial goals only for some government policies to interfere with our incomes, savings, and plans. In January this year, I have set a lot of goals, visions, dreams, and to-buys that will aid me in my career journey and others. There were equally set financial plans and budgets for my earnings. The plans on income, expenses, and what could go for savings towards achieving my goals.
As of this minute, I can't tell if I can check out any goals and achievements so far. The reason for the setback is not far-fetched.
Earlier this year, food and other commodities were more affordable, making it possible for us to have some savings from whatever we earn. Such savings will be used to fuel and sponsor our set goals. But before the year got to the middle, a lot of government policies interfered with our plans, and I can practically say that everyone was affected by these policies, leaving out only the parasternal government that is constantly looting public funds and immune to the challenges faced by the masses.
Subsidy on fuel, electricity, and others was removed, causing the fuel price to go from a cent to almost a dollar now. Food prices in the market skyrocketed, and we had to save our stomachs and stay alive first, pushing our visions aside. I heard a man say that it is only when a man is alive that he can dream.
Going further into the year, life became almost unbearable for everyone. We had to exhaust all of our savings just to be able to purchase these foods. My sister termed it that we are eating money, expressing their frustration.
Any achievements of tasks, expectations, and goals so far.
Counting the number of years I have lived on earth and my age so far, there are expectations desired to have manifested in my life as an adult of this category of age (don't expect me to tell you my age again; I'm sure I have mentioned it somewhere here before😀). lot of people are looking at When I will have achieved the followinglists:s.
- Become financially stable.
- I have a car(s) of my own.
- A house too
- A business
All of this is based on visual expectations from my parents and society at large. They want to see when and how these will manifest in my life as physical evidence of a successful life.
Even though all this can be achievable for any young
As adults, a lot of things must be put into consideration as determinants of whether and when an individual is going to meet all these expectations and much more. Personal plans and vision for life, career, and destiny, plus all the economic factors of the geographic location where they live, play a role in fulfilling our expectations.
Don't expect all of these to be realistic in record time when economic situations are playing with our plans.I am trying my best but don't ask me when it will manifest.
