Hello Hive
Sometimes I like some dresses plain and simple but maybe not too plain for a dull fabric as this.
The fabric has no unique pattern or colors and seems so unattractive to me.
Even after making the outfit and it was time for her to wear it to church i still wasn't satisfied with the outcome as the cloth really look out of place for me.
Next I have to think of a quick additional or just anything to lighten up the top.
Working with a budget and wanting to add more style to this simple dress I search the house for what to use.
Fortunately I found this blue color organza that matches with the some tiny spots of blue on the dress.
This is the design of the plain dress here
Working with the organza, I cut it into 8inches strips, stitched it on the wrong side and turned it over to be pleated on the neckline of the dress.
This is the pleating process
I was thinking that I will have more than enough of the organza to go round both the waist line and the neckline but after making the neckline part very full two layer of the strip both of different width, it was exhausted.
Looking at the dress I feel more comfortable and believe that it looks better off this way.
I feel satisfied with these even though am short of working materials to continue embellishments or what do you think of the extra additional?.
