Did you know about the word circumcision or known to us, as "tuli?" This is part of our culture, if you don't want to undergo circumcision. You will be bullied when you're getting older like the age of 10 - 12. This circumcision was applied when you were just younger. According to the elders, this is good when you're just young because the skin of the pennis is soft. When you're at the age of 7-9, that is the time they implemented circumcision.
We were so lucky that we live in new generation because the process in performing circumcision was not that painful. But did you know way back 80's when the technology was not yet known in my country? Most of the children experienced the painful circumcision. Can you imagine the materials on this were, a sharp bolo, flat smooth wood and a piece of wood used to bat. Imagine the skin of your pennis will be cut with a kinfe and a bat. I can't imagine the pain of it and after performing it they used the leaves of guava that was being chewed. The chewed guava leaves serves as the medicine of the pain.
It look's funny but damn it hurt's I think. lol. Though it hurt's you should submit yourself to be circumcise. They had a funny expression about it, "you can't be a man if you don't circumcise." Here's some painful medicine also. After the circumcision, tomorrow in the early morning you should go to the sea to take a bath. They said that sea water can heal the wound. haha Look at this kid walking in the sea.
The kid didn't wear an underwear and a short. Summary, he was not wearing anything at the bottom and he only wear a long t.shirt where he can hold it to avoid touching his pennis. There were few medicine given from the doctor, unlike the old times there were no medicine. They were given an anti-biotic medicine to heal the pain but it won't heal the skin that being cut. By the way our country offers circumcision for free for those poor people that feel's heavy the expenses in circumcising. This was free so expect it that only a few amount of anaesthesia being injected. Therefore, the children can still pain as the doctor cut the skin with a scissor. Then put the bandage on it, the children were not allowed to remove the bandage. They'll wait until it removed by always going to the sea. If it will be removed, the children should go to a doctor so the doctor can check of it.
This is how they walked, it's painful if the t.shirt touch their pennis. The circumcise pennis will be sticky so if the dress touches it, ouch.
It's a week that the pennis will heal but you can't be so sure that the cut won't open again. They should be careful about it. By the way you can see children circumcising during april and may where no classes. It's painful but after that we were so proud that we're being circumcised.
