Bahay Kubo is a type of house made from a nipa hut or cogon grass and a bamboo tree. It's a stilt house of the indigenous Filipinos before the pre-colonial era. Before the Spaniards, which was the first who conquered the Philippines. There was no rock house or concrete house, it's all Bahay Kubo. This kind of house is simple and very old-fashioned. I don't know the history of Bahay Kubo but according to the internet from my research. Bahay Kubo was built like this so that it would be easier to fix if there was a typhoon that destroyed or damaged the house. I'm not really sure but it does make sense for me, perhaps it's true.
Still, why are there still Filipino people who love Bahay Kubo? If we mention tradition or culture, it's believable because even I think that way. It's nice to see an establishment that originated from your own country. It's like we miss the old us that made us become today. That's just my opinion and I don't know about some of you. It's hard to find this type of house where people still live. From what I've said earlier, it's easy to fix so it will be easier to destroy as well. Of course, even you personally will prefer the concrete house which can not be destroyed by just a typhoon easily.
Modernization is important to encourage people to love more. It doesn't mean we are erasing something for a new one but instead, it's improving it to see the real beauty of it. The simple one can be s beautiful one because some materials will be added but the signature design will still be there.

Most Filipinos don't live in this type of house but you can still see Bahay Kubo that serves as a rest house or a vacation house. If you have no idea why some people love Bahay Kubo to kill time. Simply because it's the cool feeling you have if you're inside. The nipa hut or cogon grass can prevent the heat of the sun from piercing inside. It can prevent rain as well but in the long run, the nipa hut or cogon will be decomposed. Well, it came from the leaves of a plant so it's expected.
Because of today's generation, we want everything to look elegant. The old and simple Bahay Kubo turned out to be so pretty. The materials are still the same but just added some materials to help it become so pretty.
I forgot to state the materials they used in building a Bahay Kubo. It's composed of bamboo trees - serve as the foundation of the house, - serve as the wall but different styles are depending on what they prefer, - serve as the floor of the house, chair, table,e and everything that's inside will be made from bamboo trees. Nipa plants, cogon grass, or coconut leaves are the ones being used on its roof. Those are the two materials that will be used in building a Bahay Kubo.
If you noticed the bamboo tree became shiny, it's because of varnish. The varnish helps the bamboo tree turn out to be shinier and protected from getting the old look right away.
By the way, these Bahay Kubo are for sale. It was located in Leyte and the price of each is good for your pocket. Not that expensive but not that cheap. Seeing how beautiful it looks will give you an idea of how much more the price will be. It was built very well, by seeing how it was built you can tell from it.
If you don't want to stay inside the house because it feels like you don't see the surroundings. This cottage-style Bahay Kubo will be perfect for you. If you want a house because you love the Bahay Kubo design, this will be perfect. This is the design of Bahay Kubo from the indigenous Filipinos.
It's perfect as well if you have beaches or your house is near the shore. Most cottages on beaches are Bahay Kubo because of how nice it is to stay inside. Not a typical Bahay Kubo but it's almost the same.
I have my video on youtube where I stated the price of them. The price is different from that big one compared to this cottage-style.
