In my last post, I mentioned why many of us fancy great goals.
It’s a good motivation to think about great goals, but if we don’t take the necessary steps to make these goals a reality, that’s when they become mere wishful thinking.
What do you wish for and what are you working towards?
Do they align with each other?
I’ve been one to elaborate on luxury for some time now, it's because I've got a few rich people I know around me and also the not-so-rich (in my category).
I’ve noticed that people who have enough money for luxury never really engage in buying luxury items or living a luxury lifestyle.
These categories have a goal, and they work toward it
But average Joe's like me are the people who fancy and fantasize about luxury items and products the most. Of which, in reality, we are way below the means of living a luxury lifestyle.
Many are merely surviving but still want to own a Bentley without even having a penny saved or invested in anything with an ROI or APR….quite ironic, isn't it?
In fact, this set of people (like me) love to spend all their last penny on products that only draw attention but are of no value personally.
A friend told me he’s going to drive a Bentley before leaving this world.
I laughed on hearing this(I know it's not funny, but when it comes to him, who's all play no work —it's funny)
I don't mean to be a snitch, but I'm also that friend (too)because I've had this same thought before
over and over again
It's what kids my age do nowadays. We like it fast and fancy. And we visualize ourselves in our luxury home with our 8-shaped cutie right beside us)
I still do (fantasize) sometimes, but being content kind of sways your thoughts from such sentimental energy-sucking thinking…
I laughed because we were both walking on our two feet while making this conversation. We don’t even own a bicycle, but here we are already fantasizing about buying a Bentley.
Nor are we planning on starting a business anytime soon.
Note: I'm not trying to discriminate here, but let's be honest, isn't that too far a stretch for someone(in their early twenties) with no knowledge about his or her finances?
It isn't tbh, as we've seen teens who own a Bentley(how they got it doesn't matter here).
But another reason why I laughed(maybe the main one) at his thought is that he's not the investing type, he's the spending type. Same with me, but as for me, I'm more aware of my situation that I know I might never get to own a Bentley Nor worth a million dollars if I don't change my spending habits to start investing more in activities and investments that can give massive returns.
We have no work or plans, or even a job to save up a thousand bucks, but here we are...
I know luck plays a part, but luck is only going to happen to you if you have done some backend work without relenting. And even if that money comes due to luck!
It's going to be difficult to keep it if you keep spending it on products that won't serve you
I hope he gets to accomplish his goal. I guess the Bentley company now has a potential buyer for one of their cars.
Many who don't even think about owning luxury items eventually get to be the ones to have enough money and resources to buy them, but still won't. Because they know how this will affect their financial security.
But when they eventually do buy/purchase them, they do so with a purpose.
Striving for a million bucks is great, same with owning a PJ, but when we have no way of working towards the money or luxury goal. They become a burden, and we become disappointed when we face the truth that we might never get to that level of success even if we work and save all our 9-5 working year's salary.
And that's if you don't get layed off, which is almost inevitable today and in the coming years
Layoffs are coming…
It is why investing is paramount and one of the best-proven ways to become a millionaire, and also own a Bentley, or whatever goal it is we strive for financially.
Many investors today can afford countless things, but most won't get themselves anything fancy or any of those things that they know would impact their balance negatively.
Are you wishful thinking or investing toward your wishes?
Tbh, I've all been wishing and not investing, but that's changing soon....
Off to bed
Until next time
