This is my post for #freewriters Wednesday prompt moving on hosted by
I had to laugh at all the weathermen on the west coast this morning. Don't get me wrong, this storm is nothing to laugh at but they were trying to build up the winds and if you look, the two buoys are calm and the wind speeds on land are 38 and under. Meanwhile, here on the east coast, we were having a squall and the wind was blowing 44 with higher gusts.
It is not even close to us and we are flooded, this is all from last night and this morning, the rest of the day it has only sprinkled. It is supposed to get to us sometime tonight or early tomorrow morning. I hope it dies down before getting here.
There are holes in my pond liner the size of dinner plates and it is full of water. I think that all of my poor worms are dead. I keep telling myself that maybe they crawled out but I do not know if they could crawl out of it with how fast the water came in.
It is starting to blow outside and the storm is still a long way away. It needs to get to moving on we do not need any more rain.
The floorboard of my truck had water in it so I guess my windshield leaks. I put some plastic over it. I shut the plastic in the doors and closed the plastic in the little window at the back of it. The wind will be from the south and that is toward the back of my truck. the corners of the plastic I tied leads to and wrapped it through the wood slats. I do not know if it will hold up, but it is worth the effort.
I will be surprised if our okra is still standing tomorrow.
Okra has a pretty flower.
I think we will lose power so I filled some buckets and jugs with water so we can flush the toilets.
As soon as the storm gets close, she will stay under my chair.
My granddaughter bought this for the dog. When the storm gets closer and before it gets bad I am to give it to the dog to eat. I wish she would have bought two. One for me.
