My name is Chris. My online journey started when I lost my job 3 years ago. I was 52 back then, and in my country (France) this means "Thanks, but no, thanks. Bye and good luck !"... as far as finding a new job is concerned.
That's when I became a target : the ideal target for marketers offering work from home opportunities ! And while still struggling with a mixture of anger at the wasted years and fear of a future that looked anything but bright, I found myself little by little switching back to the student mode. I had to find out what doors the internet could open for me.
I was lucky enough not to fall into too many of the traps or scams that flood the web, found a good mentor, studied and learned from what he tried to teach me, tried some things, failed, tried something else, failed again... but never forgot my mentor's first advice :
"Don't feel defeated by your failures. They are part of the learning curve. Learn from them and keep going. The faster you fail, the better, because every failure from which you learn will get you closer to success."
Thank you, Laurent, for tickling that part of my mind that was still open enough to consider something completely new, completely different from what I had wasted my life on for nothing.
I'm still here, still learning, still trying... because you made me promise you that I would never give up. A hand-written promise, a real envelope, sent by post... You said it was important and powerful. It made me smile, but I did it, and I'm glad I did. Thank you also for taking a few minutes, months later, to congratulate me on my first online sale :)
Yes, I'm still here... and I' ve got a suitcase full with stuff that I learnt along my sinuous way and that I would love to share with you.
