Straight outta 90's
Yoshitaka Murayama, creator of the legendary PS1 J-RPG Suikoden, announced that he is launching a Kickstarter campaign for his new title and successor to his famous game, the Eiyuden Chronicle.
Yoshitaka Murayama, Junko Kawano, Osamu Komuta and Junichi Murakami join forces with several successful Japanese artists, composers and creators who have worked on some JRPGs' in the past, such as Suikoden 1, 4, Arca Last, Castlevania: of Sorrow, OZ, Wild Arms and more.
Eiyuden Chronicle is described as an ode to classic JRPGs. It will have high resolution pixel-based graphics and characters, with a 2.5D perspective and will focus on classic exploration. It will be a story of friendship and war with 100 unique heroes and a building system that will allow players to build their army. Speaking about the game, Murayama said:
The first thing we decided when the team got together was that we wanted to make a game the way we wanted it. We chose Kickstarter because we want to make an interesting game based on players, retaining the rights to the design, the world and the history of the game, but also what we consider fun. Support us in this new challenge and we promise to make something that will hear your voices.
The Eiyuden Chronicle Kickstarter campaign launches on August 27th.
If things go well and it hits $ 500,000 then it may initially be released for PC in 2022.
