It felt a bit like a drive to the edge of the world. A long boring drive with the anticipation building and wondering whether another tourist site would be worth all the effort.
Of course, the edge of the known world would have a light house.
Finally, we can see the car park and the rest of the way would be on foot. Definitely not as big as I was thinking.
I did not know it at the time I took the photo, but we were heading for that dark hole in the middle of the frame and there were more Sea Lions. Long nosed fur seals. There are plenty to see on Kangaroo Island, maybe it should have been called Seal Island.
Lots of zig zag board walks but still only a short 10-minute walk.
Did I say it was super windy, my Garmin recorded the short walk and said the breeze was 35Kph, it felt like a lot more in this very exposed spot.
The purpose-built walkway and handrail made it very easy to access.
A wonderful natural sea carved rock bridge inside the Flinders Chase National Park, free to entry when we visited.
The bottom of the arch viewing platform was well sheltered from the wind. We stayed a bit longer before tackling the hail force winds back to the car. I had to watch there I was putting my feet each step as the wind was blowing me off a straight line. It almost felt like I was drunk.
We were also lucky to see a Koala on the way out.
