Para mí una de las cosas más especiales que puede obsequiarle a alguien es algo hecho por tí mismo; desde pequeña me he valido de mi habilidad para dibujar y pintar para regalar detalles a mis seres queridos, me gusta concentrar mis pensamientos alrededor de esa persona e imaginarme su expresión cuando vea la obra culminada. No mucha gente sabe valorar este hecho, he visto muchas veces como algunas personas no se sienten satisfechas o no conservan con cuidado los pequeños dibujos que he obsequiado, y seguramente no soy la única a la que le ha pasado esto.
¿A qué viene esta introducción? pues, la pequeña pintura que les comparto hoy lo hice con la intención de darla como obsequio de despedida a una tía que nos visitó durante unos meses y que partió de vuelta a su casa en otro país.
Tenía mucho tiempo sin pintar sobre tela o lienzo, así que tomé provecho de esto y saqué mis pinturas y demás materiales de arte y empecé a bocetar lo que iba a pintar.
El boceto lo mantuve lo más simple posible, dividí el espacio en tres partes: cielo, mar y tierra, y en base a eso dispuse los elementos como las rocas y la lancha o bote.
Quise dejar un espacio limpio entre el borde del lienzo y la obra en sí, así que tomé unas tiras de cinta adhesiva y pegué en cada borde de la superficie. Siendo el amarillo el color principal en la obra, pinté toda la superficie con este color y poco a poco fui añadiendo otros colores base como el de la arena y algunos matices rojizos para el cielo. Decidí dejar la lancha como último elemento para pintar.
Mi gata quiso participar en el proceso y se sumó a las fotografías sin siquiera pedir permiso.
Conforme fui añadiendo matices en el cielo y en el mar la pintura fue tomando vida y viéndose más realista, lo cual me emocionó ya que no esperaba que se viera tan bien.
Por último, presté especial atención a la lancha, ese tipo de botes son de uso común en mi país en zonas costeras. Usé lápices de colores de tonos cálidos para aportar un poco más de textura y definir algunos detalles. Y aquí el resultado final.
Se suponía que le llevaría este obsequio a mi tía algunos días antes de que tomara el avión, sin embargo, estuve enferma durante la semana y preferí quedarme en casa, así que le había encargado mi papá que se lo llevara el día que la fuera a visitar... Pese a lo mucho que se lo recordé, olvidó llevarlo consigo xd. Así que supongo que lo colgaré en algún espacio de mi casa.

ENGLISH VERSION
For me one of the most special things that you can give to someone is something made by yourself; since I was a child I have used my ability to draw and paint to give details to my loved ones, I like to concentrate my thoughts around that person and imagine their expression when they see the finished work. Not many people know how to value this fact, I have seen many times how some people do not feel satisfied or do not keep with care the small drawings that I have given as a gift, and surely I am not the only one to whom this has happened.
Why this introduction? Well, the small painting I am sharing with you today was made with the intention of giving it as a farewell gift to an aunt who visited us for a few months and left to return to her home in another country.
I had a long time without painting on canvas, so I took advantage of this and got out my paints and other art supplies and started sketching what I was going to paint.
I kept the sketch as simple as possible, I divided the space into three parts: sky, sea and land, and based on that I arranged the elements like the rocks and the boat.
I wanted to leave a clean space between the edge of the canvas and the artwork itself, so I took some strips of masking tape and stuck on each edge of the surface. Being yellow the main color in the work, I painted the whole surface with this color and little by little I added other base colors like the sand and some reddish shades for the sky. I decided to leave the boat as the last element to paint.
My cat wanted to participate in the process and joined the photographs without even asking permission.
As I added hues in the sky and sea the painting came to life and looked more realistic, which excited me as I didn't expect it to look this good.
Lastly, I paid special attention to the boat, those kind of boats are commonly used in my country in coastal areas. I used colored pencils of warm tones to add a little more texture and define some details. And here is the final result.
I was supposed to bring this gift to my aunt a few days before she flew out, however, I was sick during the week and preferred to stay home, so I had asked my dad to bring it to her the day she was going to visit... Despite how much I reminded him, he forgot to take it with him, lol. So I guess I'll hang it somewhere in my house.
