It's always an unpleasant feeling when our decision turns out to be negative. Most times, we wish we could turn back the hands of the clock and make a better decision, but unfortunately, it appears impossible. Decision-making is not always an easy task, depending on the situation. I have found myself several times in an indecision mood. Should I do this or that? Who knows how things will unfold if I go with alternative A or B? Confusion sets in, but then a decision must be made. It's just part of life that we need to deal with; it's inevitable and funny enough, we face this in our daily activities, just that some decisions can be simpler than others.

For instance, when I wanted to get married, I was so indecisive! At first, confusion was the order of the day. I wasn't under any pressure to make a decision, but there were lots of factors to evaluate. The world is filled with uncertainties, so we can't predict the outcome of a certain decision. We can only do our part and proceed to make one decision or another. Even in business and some investments, some decisions come out favorable, while we sometimes fail with our decisions. However, I will discuss below the few steps I observe when making some decisions.
The few steps I observe when making decisions
Understanding the issue: this is the basic thing I do first. Knowing exactly what the issue is makes analyzing the problem easier. It's more about defining the problem and having a clearer picture of it before taking action.
Analyze it: Having defined the problem, I will thoroughly research it to help me make an informed decision. For example, if the decision is about a particular business I have some experience in, I do not hesitate to go further to research to avoid mistakes that could be avoided.
Seek help where necessary: I do not mind reaching out to someone I know has better experience than me about the issue for advice or a solution. This is not always applicable to many people but sure, it does work fine for me.
Take action: This is the last step I take after going through the three lists above. At this point, whatever comes out of my decision, I will know that I played my part.
How long does it take me to make major decisions?: I will say so as long as I find answers or solutions to my problems. I do not like making decisions in haste, at least to lessen some risks, but if the situation isn't a sensitive one, I can think through the issue and decide almost immediately.
Coping with disappointment

Things may not go as planned; it's natural, and it hurts when the results of our efforts turn out to be disappointing. However, one of the ways I cope with disappointment is by showing myself a little bit of kindness. Yes, I will try not to be so hard on myself for my mental health. I try to treat the situation as one of my learning experiences and reduce my expectations for my future dealings. Finally getting support from a close friend or family member to help me walk through the phase appears to be helpful so far.
In conclusion,
Taking decisions on certain issues looks risky, but approaching the situation step by step may lessen the risk and probably yield a good result in the end.
Thanks for reading through my thoughts on this subject.
Do well to stay positive always 🤗
