It's a topic that a lot of people like debating about; however, I will share my honest thoughts about this subject, but keep in mind that we are all entitled to our different opinions.
Abortion rights: do you think women deserve the right to abortion? Why?
To start with, if you can't create a life, then I think you shouldn't nurse the idea of terminating one all in the name of having a right to do so. A lot of people argue that one of the major problems with an underdeveloped society is overpopulation, which the right to abortion can curb. Other people also argue that most societies where the rate of poverty is high have a high fertility rate with less productivity, so there is a need for them to have the right to abortion. Like seriously? This is a big joke, if you ask me! I found this argument so terrible. I was reading some entries, and some viewpoints didn't just sit well for me, but it's fine because we are all free to express our thoughts on every matter, just like I am doing now, and of course you have the right to disagree with my perspective on this.
Let me remind us again of the meaning of abortion before I go further. Abortion simply means terminating a pregnancy intentionally, whether you think it's still in blood form or already a fetus. There's no point deceiving ourselves about assuming that "oh, this is still blood formation after all," because we all know where the blood formation is leading.
Having said that, there are types of abortions that are usually recommended by doctors. Such as in a case where an ultrasound and other test is carried out on a pregnant woman and, behold, there's an issue of fetal abnormality or ectopic pregnancy. Other complications can be related to brain defects, which will make the child abnormal after birth. I think these medical reasons are quite understandable and medically approved to abort the child because, personally, as a parent, I wouldn't want to have such a child and keep spending on him or her without any hope of having a complete human from the child in the future, more of a deliberate birthing liability for myself.
I am aware that some countries legalize abortion, but personally, I am not and will never be in support of giving women the right to abortion. I am not standing my ground for a NO to abortion right due to faith, no! I am of the opinion that taking away human life, which you cannot create, is cruelty.
What happened to sex education? What happened to family planning? What happened to creating awareness for females to understand their bodies and play safely? Now, you can argue that anyone can make a mistake, which is good, but that's why the government keeps advocating for family planning, especially for married couples, and that's why sex education is important for parents to embrace as early as possible.
I, as a parent, wouldn't want my child to first learn about his or her body out there without doing the needful when it will be more effective.
Sometimes, if you wait for a child to learn sex education in school, he might learn it late, and before then, he might get himself into trouble. Curbing abortion starts with educating our children about their bodies. And to our young ladies who are into relationships, you must have understood the implications of having unprotected sex, so why not prevent unwanted pregnancy? And then, it's interesting for you to know that many married women are also involved in abortion for many reasons. The thing is that the possible implications of having an abortion are too unpleasant. You may risk your womb, get infected, or even die.
So why gamble with your life for one right you feel that women deserve? I will stop here, but overall, I am not in support of giving women the right to abortion for any reason we can think of or imagine.
