Hello everyone. If I remember the past, it feels like there are many developments in the current era. Especially, life in cities and villages. In Bandung, I live in a very remote village. If I go home, the signal is only there during the day. So, when covid-19 hit, I preferred to be in Jakarta, the capital city of Indonesia. Because it is difficult to get a signal to work. Are these conditions still the same?
Actually, if I remember, economic problems are not the main factor in my family. I am in the middle economic group, but if there is turbulence, we will enter the lower economy. In the past, my family already had a television. But with a high antenna. When other people already have digital television with satellite dishes, I still like television using an antenna. At that time, the television I had was in color. So, we knew what clothes the cartoon characters were wearing.
Even so, our family is happy. There was one moment, every Sunday, the children always watched cards. a number of television channels for cartoons were always blurry. every 10 minutes or the television screen was blurry, my younger brother and I took turns fixing the antenna. Just to watch television.
So did my mother. When their favorite soap opera aired, their children had to be quick to fix the television antenna. Actually, there were still many televisions with antennas at that time. Some used bamboo, some used iron. Our family used iron, so that when it rained we could still watch television without fear of the house antenna being blown away by the wind.
I also remember when we played badminton, the show became a family show. We always took turns fixing the antenna. that's just a memory. the era continues to develop. The internet has started to be used in many areas. Television is no longer interesting, but YouTube shows are spreading in the house.
There was a time when the television was at home, at that time I was working in Jakarta. My mother was not fussy. It only asked for an internet quota to watch a number of shows from YouTube. I am the same now, I prefer to watch Netflix or other paid subscriptions to watch Korean dramas or other shows.
Everything is easily accessible with the latest technology. However, in Jakarta, I still see a number of houses still using analog television amidst the rapid internet. Technology has become something that cannot be denied today. Likewise, society has begun to adapt. Everything makes it easy, hopefully this easy thing doesn't make people lazy. That's all I can tell you, what do you think? See you in the next story.
