Hello everyone, how are you? Recently I visited the second largest mosque in Jakarta. This mosque is called the Al-Azhar Grand Mosque. The mosque is located in the Blok M area. I want to tell you about my visit to this mosque, where the mosque has a white base color on the outside.
From this, this mosque looks very luxurious and large. This mosque was built, starting in 1952 and completed in 1958. This mosque also once asked Mrs. Yahama Ka as the grand imam of this mosque. In the past, this mosque was built by 14 figures from the New Masyumi party.
In 1960, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, Sheikh Mahmud Syaltut, during a visit to the Indonesian state, proposed that this mosque be named the Al-Azhar Mosque. And this mosque also became an acknowledgment of the role and character of our national figure, namely Buya Hamka. Buya Hamka himself proposed that this mosque become a center for preaching with the awakening of the Muslim community.
This mosque also continued to develop and then became a center of education in the Blok M area today. In 1967, this mosque established a kindergarten. And then it developed into, also developed and also established Al-Azhar University of Indonesia in 2000.
And then this mosque also continued to develop and was designated as one of the historical sites of the development of the city of Jakarta and became a national culture in 1993. This building also currently has ornaments and buildings that are not placed by time. Having a white base color, this mosque looks very luxurious in front.
This mosque also has very beautiful Arabic calligraphy and with a dominance of blue and green colors. On the dome of this mosque there is also a calligraphy painting with 99 names of Allah Husna on the other side. The calligraphy symbolizes the name of God in Islam.
Overall, the white color in this mosque symbolizes the symbol of purity, and on the outside there are not many ornaments. So this mosque looks very clean on the outside. That's all I can tell you from my visit, what do you think? See you again.
