Hi, moms and dads. It’s been a while since I’ve stopped by to share some of my experiences as a mom with you, but it’s always a pleasure to be back.
We preschool moms were invited to a Mother’s Day celebration, which took place in the children’s classroom last Thursday, May 8. For the potluck, I was asked to bring two 1.5 liter bottles of juice; the rest of the moms were to bring some snacks, cakes, and cupcakes.
We arrived at school a little late that day since I had to stop by work first, but when my partner finally arrived, we went straight to the gathering. The school entrance was decorated with balloons, a nice “Happy Mother’s Day” sign, and a silhouette representing us.
In the preschool classroom, they set up decorations with beautiful flowers made of construction paper and a table featuring a picture frame with a photo of our children, a small box of chocolates, a bracelet, and a foam flower. The teachers went out of their way to give us the best for our celebration.
The event began with some very heartfelt words from Ms. Lilibeth, who doesn’t have children of her own yet but treats ours as if they were her own. Afterward, we had a delicious breakfast of tequeños with apple juice.
The teachers led some fun activities, like popping the other moms’ balloons with our feet the one who finished the activity with her own balloon won and other more emotional ones, like sharing anecdotes about our motherhood. In my case, I got the question: “What was the first thing you bought when you found out you were going to be a mom?” My answer was: a baby bath and some flannel cloths with the weekly calendar. The last and best part for me was recognizing Abby’s eyes, which were printed on a sheet of paper it was impossible not to recognize that sweet gaze.
Finally, they served us some desserts, like little cupcakes and a cake decorated with colorful meringues. I only got to try the meringue and left the rest for the girls to eat later since they love them.
It was a really fun and unique morning; they took me out of my routine, which made me feel very special and even more loved by my little one. The teachers, once again, did an excellent job not only as professionals but as good people.

Hola, papitos y mamitas. Tenía tiempo sin pasar por aquí y compartir alguna experiencia en mi vida de mamá con ustedes, pero siempre es un placer volver.
Las mamitas del preescolar fuimos convocadas a una celebración por el Día de las Madres, la misma tuvo lugar en la sala de los niños el pasado jueves 08 de mayo, para el compartir se me indicó llevar dos jugos de 1 litro y medio, el resto debían llevar algunos pasapalos, tortas y ponquesitos.
Llegamos un poquito tarde ese día al colegio ya que debía pasar primero por el trabajo, pero cuando finalmente llego mi compañera nos fuimos directamente a la reunión, la entrada al colegio estaba decorado con globos, un lindo feliz día de la madre y una silueta en representación de nosotras.
En el salón de preescolar prepararon una decoración con bellas flores en cartulina y una mesa con un portaretratos con una foto con nuestros hijos, una cajita con bombones de chocolate, una pulsera y una flor de foami, las maestras se esmeraron para darnos lo mejor en nuestra celebración.
La actividad inició con unas palabras muy emotivas por parte de la maestra Lilibeth, quién aún no tiene hijos pero siente a los nuestros como suyos, posteriormente pasamos a desayunar unos ricos tequeños con jugo de manzana.
Las maestras realizaron unas dinámicas divertidos como explotar el globo de las otras mamá con los pies y la que terminará la dinámica con el suyo, ganaba, otras más emotivas como hablar de algunas anécdotas en nuestra maternidad, en mi caso me tocó la pregunta que decía: ¿Que fue lo primero que compraste que te enteraste cuando ibas a ser mamá? Mi respuesta fue: la bañera y unas franelillas con el semanario, la última y la mejor para mi fue reconocer los ojos de Abby que se encontraban impresos en una hoja, imposible no conocer esa tierna mirada.
Finalmente nos dieron algunos postres, como ponquesitos y pastel decorados con merengues, de colores, yo solo pude probar el merengue y se los deje a las niñas para que se los comieran después ya que a ellas les encantan.
Fue una mañana muy divertida y distinta, me sacaron de la rutina lo cuál me hizo sentir muy especial y aún más amada por mi pequeña, las maestras una vez más haciendo una excelente labor no solo como profesionales sino como buenas personas.
