I'm still feeling a bit flu-y, but today I still found time to visit one of my favorite places in the city, a place I don't think I've ever taken you to: the Library! But I have to tell you about it because it's one of the best libraries in Tuscany, even studied in library science textbooks (I myself took an exam on this library) and used as a site for field trips. Today, I'll take you outside and to the first floor, but then I'll take you to the upper floors too! The San Giorgio Library is located in an industrial area near the University of Pistoia, a large straw-yellow building you can see in the photos behind me. This university campus houses the nursing and agriculture departments, and its location next to the library is perfect. Outside the library, which is a modern, glass-fronted structure, there's a monthly art exhibition on display. In fact, when I lived in the city, I often went to various artists' exhibitions. But they don't just hold exhibitions here, they also host book presentations, various courses (computer science, English, Excel, dance, science, etc.) and all kinds of other activities, informational meetings, shows, and concerts. It's truly a very active library with so many initiatives!

Hoy los llevaré afuera, a la primera planta, ¡y luego también a las plantas superiores! La Biblioteca San Giorgio se encuentra en una zona industrial cerca de la Universidad de Pistoia, un gran edificio de color amarillo pajizo que pueden ver en las fotos que están detrás de mí. Este campus universitario alberga los departamentos de enfermería y agricultura, y su ubicación junto a la biblioteca es perfecta. The atrium is primarily a welcoming area for guests, then we enter the first floor, which is very large with various study rooms, a free newsstand, and a bar. In the center of the first floor, we find armchairs made with the letters of the library's name, various tables with seats for those studying, a green area in the middle of the room, a tribute to the greenery of Pistoia, modern lamps, and a small garden nestled between the various rooms. It is a very airy space, frequented by high school students and other people because it is the floor where the most noise is tolerated, given that there is also a bar and an auditorium. In the closed rooms and on the upper floors, however, absolute silence is requested. The first floor is perfect for many activities and various groups gather here. Of course, there are also various small shelves with books, especially the area dedicated to new releases and non-fiction. There is also the children's area and playroom, which I will show you next time because it is really nice.
Pero ahora vayamos a la primera planta. Aquí, a la entrada del atrio, utilizado como espacio expositivo, encontramos obras de arte fijas como el cuadro "El vestido de María" de Giorgio Ulivi, una escultura de árbol muy evocadora y algunas pinturas de estilo pop art. El atrio es principalmente una zona de bienvenida para los huéspedes; después, accedemos a la primera planta, muy amplia, con varias salas de estudio, un quiosco gratuito y un bar. En el centro de la primera planta, encontramos sillones con las letras del nombre de la biblioteca, varias mesas con asientos para los estudiantes, una zona verde en el centro de la sala, un homenaje al verdor de Pistoia, lámparas modernas y un pequeño jardín entre las distintas salas. Es un espacio muy diáfano, frecuentado por estudiantes de secundaria y otras personas, ya que es la planta donde se tolera más ruido, ya que también hay un bar y un auditorio. Sin embargo, en las salas cerradas y en las plantas superiores se solicita silencio absoluto. La primera planta es perfecta para numerosas actividades y se reúnen aquí diversos grupos.
