Hello Folks!
I just received a happy news today from one of my delegator- and, he just informed me that he is extending his "delegation time."
Of course, I am so happy on this news because basically, I enjoy doing this.
Anyway, I just want to have my own say on this steemit delegation in case anyone out there is still struggling about it.
Steem Power delegation according to our network:
Users have the option to delegate Steem Power to other users. When a user is delegated Steem Power - their bandwidth, content votes, and curation rewards are calculated as if it were their own Steem Power. Users are not able to power down or cash out delegated Steem Power however, as it still belongs to the original owner.
Most users will have a small amount of Steem Power delegated to them by the Steemit account after creating an account via steemit.com.
Delegated Steem Power shows up in a user's wallet below their actual Steem Power balance in parentheses.
I don't know if this could be another "educational" post but, I just want to share to you guys how I get to have these wonderful people delegate on me. I understand that not everyone who would potentially read through my post need delegating. In fact, some of them are even potential delegators or are actively delegating.
yes guys. By the end of this post, you would be cursing me if I would as much as use the word "delegate" in my other posts because, I am really utilizing it to the fullest in this single post. I don't know what my dreams might be tonight. Perhaps, it might involve something that has the word delegate in it! Perhaps, skipping letters?
Anyway, here's how I started and manage my delegated steem power:
Start by creating quality posts.
I understand that not everyone is good at writing. But maybe they can be excellent photographers or artists? Whatever you're good at, flaunt it. Create something unique that would spark everyone's curiousity. The key is something pertinent, unique and interesting.
In addition to that, creating relevant content would also attract potential supporters.
Be consistent.
I have been mentioning this a lot but, I will repeat myself again in case I did not make my point clear before. No one will be interested to read or follow you if you only post once every two weeks or even once every month.
Same way as why would anyone delegate you their steem power if you would only post every once in a blue moon?
Do not go around soliciting sponsors
I understand that it sucks being a Plankton. But what annoys anyone is blatantly begging for others to delegate to them. Unless the person expressly makes his or her wishes to help others out, asking random strangers to sponsor you might earn you a bad reputation in the community.
Cultivate a positive relationship with your delegators
Your sponsors saw great potential in your posts. They are willing to stake their steem power for you to participate more. So cultivate a positive relationship with them either by advocating in their causes, spreading the word, upvoting, re-steeming, whatever it takes to let them know that you are an active participant.
However, make sure that your comments or posts are also relevant.
If your sponsors ask you to comment, support, upvote , follow or engage with anyone in the community, heed their request.
Strive to produce better posts
Yes. You guys are smart and must have come from a highly specialized fields out there. But the thing is, everyone gets bored. Which is why I never even wanted to stick on one genre or topic for a day or so.
Steemit is a vast community. Spend some time browsing other people's works and participating in different community activities like challenges or group work.
Spend some time reading or researching for new things to feature in your posts. Keep your audience captivated by a posting different types of topics.
Experiment with your posts. Acquire new skills- like basic video editing, photography or even basic technical writing. They might be tiring or frustrating initially but, this is a good personal investment even if you quit steemit and start somewhere else.
Be responsible
Folks, I have not seen this in our community often but, getting a lot of steem power for such a short period of time can be daunting. For me, it felt like there's an adrenaline rush in my system that kept me jotting down potential topics to write.
But, I draw the line on this: do not use your steem power to participate negatively in the community by spamming other users or posting unacceptable things.
Re invest your earnings in Steemit
There is nothing more annoying to potential delegators than to observe that instead of increasing their steem power by powering up, the people they are helping are actually withdrawing their profit.
Just to make it clear to everyone: My delegators are not demanding that I invest back in steemit but my take on this is this: what will happen to me if someday they will withdraw their delegated steem power?
Now is not the time to profit from your posts but utilize it to build your reputation, network, participate, engage, be an active member of this society.
Do not get obsessed by computing the percentage that goes back to your delegators for their support- if there is any - I honestly don't know at this point and, its not my priority to know. They provided the fuel, you drive the car. That's a fair trade in my book.
Know who your delegators are
You can check them on this link: https://steemyy.com/delegators/
Take note, if you are typing this on your cursor, double "y" on steemyy or you would end up here:
Anyway, back to reality. Mine looks like this:
Understand your audience
Above all, get to know your readers or supporters better by engaging in the comment section or visiting their posts. Try knowing their tastes based on their posts and their response to yours.
It is very likely that these people who are following you are related in a way or another to your delegators so, get to know them also.
Lastly, I just want to show my gratitude to all the people who keep supporting me and, to my "fuel providers" ,

You guys are the reason I strive to find new and interesting things to post everyday. I want to make you laugh. I want to intrigue you. I want to entertain and probably influence you. I want to thrive with you in this ecosystem.
