As people, we tend to easily believe what is trending. News can get to us and we believe it instantly if our loved ones believe it.
The spread of fake news nowadays is like wild fire. Though good in some cases, it's effects have proven to be very risky.
It can make somebody loose what they have and it also makes somebody loose an important opportunity.
Fake news can disrupt the trust a person have for another person. It is very crucial to to be plain and transparent.
In some countries, the news reporters lie to the general public. Instead of reporting the exact things that happens, they add their own stories to spice things up. Some news channel do not tell the actually number of deaths during a disaster. Some tend to exaggerate it while others reduce the number for no obvious reason.
This has made people loose faith in many news stations. This is why some people prefer to watch the news from one news station but not from the other. Its really heart breaking yaknow.
These days, bloggers spread false news. People love fake lives and this has been affecting the society in a great and unpleasant way. Nobody knows what to believe no more. If a civil war is reported to have happened, nobody knows how it happened or how many people are killed or injured. One TV station may document 2 killed 5 injured while the other news station will document 5 killed and 12 injured.
Everyone wants to spice up their stories by all means possible. By so doing, they forget their professional ethics.
Even within ourselves as normal people, fake news is still being spread. Some months ago, two partners who are about to wed almost call of their wedding because of the news they heard from friends. People said many immoral things to each of them about their partner.
Unfortunately, they believed the stories and that was how they started having serious issues.
After a while of having issues, a mediator came and settled the problems between them. They later found out that the trouble is an orchestrated one. Everything that was said to them was false. Well, the most important thing is that they settled their differences and they have taken a step further.
Today is Leo power up day. A day when users stake their Leo token. I do not want to be left out, so I took a step forward to power up some Leo tokens today.
This is the first time I am powering up Leo tokens though. For today, I powered up 30 Leo tokens as seen in the picture below.
