Good morning everyone, I bring to you this morning my latest creative design. A three quarter sleeve kaftan made of damask, a black and a gold damask. Though my client brought to me just the black damask do I decided to make it simple adding a gold damask as a design at the front.
It's a collarless kaftan, invisible zipper was used instead.
Will be taking you through how I made this lovely dress.
MATERIALS USED
- Black and gold Damask
- Invisible zip
- Hair stay
- Threads
CUTTING AND SEWING PROCESS
After cutting the main fabric, then cut the gold material I want to use as the design at the front, making use of the actual length but not wider than 7 inches, then I applied hair stay on it and I placed on the front and sew.
After that I sew the allowances added to the Length and I joined the shoulders together leaving the other side for zip and tape the neck
Then I fixed the zip, joined the shoulders and the body
