Good morning everyone, I'm here again to share with you my latest design. A beautiful vintage shirt I made using vintage material and a plain off white material.
I got just a trouser Length material of the vintage and mixed with off white material I have left in my shop, I'm happy it came out really nice.
So I will be sharing with you step by step how I got it done.
MATERIALS USED
- Vintage material
- Plain material
- Silver buttons
- Collar stay
- Hair stay
CUTTING AND SEWING PROCESS
I've explained several times on how I do cut my shirts so I won't be dwelling much on that, but straight to how I sew which I'm going to the explaining via pictures and little tall.
So after cutting and applying hairstay to the allowances added for buttons, I started sewing from there, then joined the shoulders together, fixed the sleeve placket, joined the sleeve to the arm hole then cover the body using piping method.
After that, I created the sleeve curve and the collar.
Fixing of collar is a bit technical, because it must be accurate, so it's better to make the neck small while cutting so you can trim to original size later after creating the collar using the client neck measurements.
