Good afternoon. It's another day this week.
Yesterday, which was Sunday, when I woke up I prayed and did my morning devotion. After that, I woke up and did my household chores. After doing my household chores, I also fetched water. I went to church, and our pastor talked about the topic, "Who is on God's side?" He also talked about "how to get and remain on God's side". He mentioned many things about it, but these caught my attention.
The first is "Maintain a quality covenant of kingdom service. This means you should not promise God what you can't do; only promise him what you are capable of doing.
For example, if you say you will give God #20,000 and you are given #10,000 and you don't give him the remaining balance, that means you are owing God the remaining #10,000 because God didn't force you and say by force you have to give me #20,000; what you are capable of giving God, give him; do not promise what you can't fulfil.
The second is "Beware of tempting God through complaining and murmuring." It's bound for people to complain and murmur against God, especially if you ask God for something and he gives you another thing, which causes you to doubt God's goodness for the present. Even God Almighty said murmuring was a sin.
When we know that murmuring is a sin, why are we still going against him? Even some people will complain to God, saying they asked him to give them something, but he's given them something else. This can make people start saying negative things to him by murmuring and so on.
Also on Monday, my SOC 203 lecturer gave us an assignment, and the topic that should be discussed was "The origin of the family is a continuous debate," so because I didn't have the chance, I tried to do it on Saturday by doing it myself.
On Thursday, my friends said they wanted Cafe Man to help them with the assignment and that we should contribute #2,000; I was shocked because why should I put down #2,000 when I could do it myself? So I told them I wasn't interested. So on Saturday, I did the assignment, but the man said we had to print it out.
I was now thinking about how I would print it out when I did my own on a sheet of paper, and I couldn't photocopy it because the lecturer would know I did, so I was sad because I couldn't call my friends and pay #2,000.
I have this personal sheet. I used to write my notes, so yesterday after church I wrote all the assignments on my sheet, my brother taught me how to use WPS, so I copied and pasted them into WPS and saved them there, but I was amazed because I have been wondering where I am going to paste my assignment and print it out without paying money, and yesterday, which was Sunday, I achieved it without paying any money to do the assignment.
Even if I want to print it out, I will only spend #400 to #500, unlike Cafe Man's #2,000 to do my assignment. Now if they gave us assignments to print in school, for me to give to Cafe Man, I would just do it myself because I know how to do it without giving anybody, while my friends would be wasting their money by giving Cafe Man to do it for them. I'm excited because I learnt something new yesterday and as you all know learning continues but I'm just happy because I won't be able to forget what I discovered myself.
I want the same energy to continue because it used to excite me whenever I discovered something interesting.
