Hello friends! Today I want to tell you about a very enjoyable trip we had on the weekend. Normally, I try not to go out on weekends because Istanbul is very crowded. However, this time I had very special guests; my cousins came to visit me from abroad and outside the city. Since their time only matched the weekend, we didn't pay attention to the crowd and hit the road. We started the day with a wonderful weather. Luckily for us, the sky was deep blue and the sun was warming us up.
Our first stop was Sultanahmet Square, which we can call the heart of Istanbul. As soon as you step into the square, that historical atmosphere immediately draws you in. On one side of us is the magnificent Hagia Sophia Mosque, on the other side is the Blue Mosque with its magnificent minarets... When one stands between these two giant works, one feels like one is in a history book.
The square was really crowded. When you looked around, you could see tourists from all over the world. People of all nationalities were photographing these beauties with cameras in their hands. This square, where different languages are mixed together, reminded me once again how cosmopolitan and hospitable Istanbul is. I can say it's a tourist paradise!
After visiting the square for a while, we took a short break. We couldn't stand it and bought ourselves a nice ice cream. Eating ice cream in sunny weather was very good for all of us. My brother was also accompanying us, we all ate our ice creams and looked around. We stood by that famous fountain pool and took pictures.
After the ice cream pleasure, we turned our route to the Grand Bazaar, that is, that is, the famous Grand Bazaar. We decided to go on foot because every street on this road tells a different story. Along the way, we watched the blue trams passing by the street and watched that classic view of Istanbul on the rails. It was very pleasant to walk on those narrow and stony roads of Sultanahmet, to examine the colorful carpets in the shops, hanging authentic embroidery and souvenirs.
My cousins loved Istanbul and this historical texture. Especially that fascinating atmosphere of Sultanahmet impressed them very much. Yes, maybe the city was too crowded and we were a little tired, but when I saw those happy faces of my cousins, I knew it was worth everything. Enjoying Istanbul with your loved ones coming from out of town is a really priceless feeling. If your path falls on these sides; be sure to stand in that square and take a breath, eat your ice cream and enjoy the history. Istanbul is a different beauty in every season and every day! When was the last time you went to Sultanahmet? Let's meet in the comments!
