On a spring afternoon that felt more like a winter day, we decided to take a break from our routine and explore a small town close to home. The sky was cloudy and threatening with a heavy downpour, but among the dark clouds, we had some openings, giving hope for moments of some clarity.

Numa tarde de primavera que mais parecia um dia de inverno, decidimos fazer uma pausa minha rotina e explorar uma pequena localidade perto de casa. O céu estava nublado e ameaçador de uma valente chuvada, mas entre as nuvens escuras, iamos tendo algumas aberturas, dando esperança a momentos de alguma claridade.
We parked the car in a narrow, deserted street, where the stone floor sparkled with the raindrops that had fallen moments before. We took advantage of one of these openings and went without fear. The fresh air from the rain mixed with the aroma of freshly watered flowers and wet earth... This is one of my favorite smells
We walked through the narrow streets, where the gray stone houses stood with an austere but welcoming air. The verdant trees contrasted with the sobriety of the facades, bringing a touch of life to the landscape.

Estacionamos o carro numa rua estreita e deserta, onde o chão de pedra reluzia com as gotas de chuva que tinham caído momentos antes. Aproveitamos uma dessas abertase fomos sem medos. O ar fresco da chuva misturava-se com o aroma das flores recém-regadas e da terra molhada... Esse é um dos cheirinhos que mais gosto
Andamos pelas ruelas estreitas, onde as casas de pedra cinzenta se erguiam com um ar austero, mas acolhedor. As árvores verdejantes contrastavam com a sobriedade das fachadas, trazendo um toque de vida à paisagem.
As we advanced, some local inhabitants passed us, waving friendly or exchanging brief greetings and wishing us a good Easter.
We entered a small square where a church stood. I found it strange that I didn't have the purple cloths for this season. We stopped for a moment to contemplate it.
Suddenly, the sky darkened even more and it began to rain heavily. The thick drops hit the stone floor hard, creating puddles of water that quickly turned into small streams. We realized it was time to get back to the car before we got completely soaked.

À medida que avançavamos, passavam por nós alguns habitantes locais, que acenavam amigavelmente ou trocavam breves cumprimentos e desejando uma boa Páscoa.
Entramos numa pequena praça onde se erguia uma igreja. Estranhei o facto de não ter os panos roxos referentes a esta época. Paramos por um momento para a contemplar.
De repente, o céu escureceu ainda mais e começou a chover torrencialmente. As gotas grossas batiam com força no chão de pedra, criando poças de água que rapidamente se transformaram em pequenos riachos. Percebemos que era hora de regressar ao carro antes que ficássemos completamente encharcados.
We hurried through the wet streets, protecting ourselves with our coats. People ran for shelter, but there were still smiles and lively exchanges of words, as if the rain couldn't erase the welcoming spirit of that community.

Apressamo-nos pelas ruas molhadas, protegendo-nos com os casacos. As pessoas corriam para se abrigar, mas ainda havia sorrisos e trocas de palavras animadas, como se a chuva não conseguisse apagar o espírito acolhedor daquela comunidade.
We arrived at the car completely soaked, but happy to have had the opportunity to explore that enchanting place, even if for a brief moment.
