- A soldier must put on a strong cloth that will be bullet proof should his attackers shoot him. In the olden days it was a metal or leather cloth covered from his top to down, tightened with a belt.
- A soldier must have a gun which will be used as an instrument for defense. He shoots the gun whenever battle becomes tough as defensive mechanism, and to safe guide him from dying at the war front.
- A soldier must put on his cap. He is always under the sun busy working for his country, and to prevent him from excessive scorching of the sun; he has to wear his cap. This also differentiate him from other civilian workers.
- A soldier must put on his safety boot. He is always at difficult places, for example thick forest which is full of thorns, rough grounds difficult to walk with these soft sandals. So he must cover his feet with protective boots.
- A soldier must be with his gang of soldiers forming a team, so that they will work as a unit. They must travel with armoured cars full of hard body that bullet cannot penetrate through.

The Core Duty Of A Soldier To His Civilian Country:
A soldier must be committed to his work guiding his country from external attack. He is must be smart, alert and strong enough to fight whenever his opposition stand against his country. He must be ready and willing to fight for his country. So, during his appointment to work for his country, he is made to pledge that in times of war he will be ready to die for his country. Because of this a soldier is always given enough training in order to be fit and use the skills acquired during training to fight. They are trained both physical and mental to employ the skills acquired in case he is fighting.
A soldier must always guide, defend or protect his country from dangers of his sister or neighbour countries. Foreigners may troop in and fight against his country in an attempt to take away property from his country. And this is the time the soldier must defend his country from this foreign attacks. That is why he is armed with gun, bullets, safety boot and protective clothing, so that, he can defend well. His weapons are these materials, so without these materials he cannot defend well for his country.
A soldier performs his duty as being honest, loyal or faithful for his country. Without loyalty, he can allow his attackers to come and defeat his country. So, he is allowed to pledge that he will always stand by his country, and he will never oppose his country for his enemies. He is also made to pledge that he will not make coup against his country to bring chaos. He is also allowed to pledge that he will never disclose decision taken with his gang to his opponents. If he is found to have disclosed this decision that he has taken with his group, it means he has bleached his contract terms with his country, and therefore he has to be dismissed from his camp for being soldier.
Christians As Soldiers Of The Cross:
First and foremost, the cross concerns the suffering of Jesus Christ to save all mankinds. He sacrificed his life at the expense of our sins. So, the message of the cross is basically to defend, fight, guide or protect the values of Christianity and God's words to save lives. And that is what exactly Jesus Christ opted for, and this not easy as we saw Jesus Christ passing through a lot of hardship because of us. It takes the form of the work of a soldier. As the work of a soldier has already discussed, the core duty of a soldier is to sacrifice for his country. So, Christians being like soldiers of the cross means that, we should sacrifice our lives and fight for the sustainabilities of our Christians values.
Currently, our Christian values that Jesus Christ stood as a soldier and fought for us before leaving us, are likely to be out of place because of love for money, lack of commitment, technology and the the like:
Nowadays, because of love for money, people do not have time for listening to the Gospel or spreading the Gospel. We have led the search for money become predominant in our lives instead of considering God's words and his Kingdom first(Matt. 6:33). That we do not seek to spend even a minute to meditate God's words, neither should we effect them in our lives. Though searching for money is good, and without it, our living on the earth become a menance for us. But the task ahead of us is to put God first so that searching for money become second and that is one core duties of Christians as soldiers of the cross.
We lack commitment for God's work. This is all because we have little faith in God and his words. If the faith in God is higher we will always be committed to serve without becoming tired. There is the saying that: "if you sacrifice your time; you will have time." If we want to be a good soldier of the cross, then we need to be commited to God's work, and make sacrifices of our time.
Technology is making a way to fade out our Christian values. Though, technology has been of great help to our lives, but also a bad servant. The introduction of Internet and computers have brought many challenges to Christianity. Of late people can search and get answers to their request on internet. Some of these are pornographic videos and pictures which are within our reach on internet. We are able to download these pornographic videos to watch for free. Apart from this pornographic videos, we have many music videos and audios on internets, which some of these musics contain bad characters of words and videos to watch or listen. The sad aspect of this issue is that, the most category of people who are influenced vulnerable are children. Currently, children owe mobile phones which have internets in them that these children have access to these information or materials.
At the moment, Satan has also intensified his canning actions by making most people to forget about God, and he is using this technology to gradually replace our Christian values that men of God left a legacy with it. Now the world has become a global and very easy to assess everything within a twinkle of an eye. Satan too is seriously using this technology to lure us so that we will easily forget about given much attension to our almighty God.

The Way Forward Is To Fight Hard As Soldiers To Defend And Uphold Our Christian Values:
Now, having known the causes of the decline of our Christian values, we need to find solutions or antidotes to them. The battle is between us and Satan, with God or Jesus Christ serving as an intermediary. Technology is helping us in many ways, and it cannot be eradicated from our lives, but Satan is using to influence our lives, so we need to divice a method to combat Satan's action. And the method is working as soldiers with all our might and faith. We should therefore intensify our commitment to God's work as soldiers of the cross. There is no time for us to relax or wait, since our enemy(Satan) does not rest, always he divice ways and means to fight against us. If we do not strive hard to fight against Satan using this technology to lure us, then our toil for been Christians will be in vain. For the battle is the Lord as Exodus 14:14 says that: "Be patient! God will fight for you." God is our refuge, and with faith, determination and prayers we are more than conquerors.
