Greetings friends of Leofinance, this is the first publication in this community that I like but I did not dare to venture into the community until I finally decided to do so because of the difficulties presented in Cuba in the use of ATMs.
ATMs are an important source of access to cash for the population, when they do not work properly or are insufficient, there may be long lines to access the ATM in Cuba, in many occasions ATMs do not have money and consequently banks limit the amount of money that can be extracted.
The malfunctioning of ATMs causes a shortage of cash in the economy, making daily transactions difficult and limiting people's spending.
ATMs are also a source of cash for retail businesses. Many businesses rely on cash payments, as the digital infrastructure is not yet as developed. The poor state of ATMs causes cash flow problems for these businesses, restricting their ability to operate and negatively affecting the local economy. Not all small businesses operate digitally, i.e. through the use of mobile transfer or in-zone payment gateways.
Currently the use of the QR code for online payment is being promoted in our businesses, with the aim of mitigating these difficulties and facilitate trade, but there are problems with the operation of this mechanism, the systems are down and you can not perform the operation add that not everyone has access to a mobile or know how to use it, Although this is not a point I am going to make now, it is important to tell you that our population is an aging population and that in general the young people used to support their adults with the use of this technology and with the accelerated growth of the emigration of our young people, these people are lost.
On the other hand, many of our employees lack the knowledge of this technology, because it is new to us and we need to train them, because it is not enough that there is the possibility of making the payment in our stores if their employees reject it and do not master it.
We must not overlook the fact that the problems in the ATMs not only affect the native population, but also have an impact on tourism, since they are a source of cash supply to visitors, and if they do not work properly, they negatively affect the experience of tourists and decrease their spending in the country, besides being a reason to damage the reputation of the tourist destination and affect its ability to attract visitors in the future.
The situation with ATMs has eroded the population's confidence in the financial system, which is manifested in the fact that people do not want to deposit their money in the bank and prefer to hold cash, which leads to a reduction in the availability of credit and constitutes one more obstacle for the economy, causing numerous personal and social setbacks.
It is necessary, among the many things we must do to strengthen the functioning of our financial system, to invest in a robust financial infrastructure, in which the purchase, maintenance and continuous repair of ATMs are a necessity.

En la actualidad se está fomentando en nuestros comercios el uso del código QR para el pago en línea, con el objetivo de atenuar estas dificultades y facilitar el comercio, pero existe problemas con el funcionamiento de este mecanismo, los sistemas se caen y no se puede efectuar la operación súmele que no todas las personas tienen acceso a un móvil o saben utilizarlo, aunque no es un punto que voy a bordar ahora, es importante que les diga que nuestra población es una población envejecida y que en general los jóvenes apoyaban a sus adultos con la utilización de esta tecnología y con el crecimiento acelerado de la emigración de nuestros jóvenes , estas personas se encuentran perdidas.
Por otra parte muchos de nuestros empleados adolecen del conocimiento de esta tecnología, pues es nueva para nosotros y se necesita capacitarlos, pues no basta con que exista la posibilidad de realizar en nuestros comercios el pago si sus empleados le hacen rechazo y no la dominan.
No debemos pasar por alto que los problemas en los cajeros no afectan solo a la población nativa, sino que incide en el turismo, pues son fuente de suministro de efectivo al visitante, si estos no funcionan adecuadamente afectan negativamente la experiencia de los turistas y disminuir su gasto en la en el país, además, de ser un motivo para dañar la reputación del destino turístico y afectar su capacidad para atraer visitantes en el futuro.
La situación con los cajeros automáticos ha erosionado la confianza de la población en el sistema financiero lo cual se manifiesta en que las personas no quieren depositar su dinero en el banco y prefieren tener el efectivo, lo que conduce a una reducción de la disponibilidad de crédito y constituye una traba más para la economía, ocasionando numerosos contratiempos en lo personal y en lo social.
Se hace necesario, entre las tantas cosas que debemos hacer para fortalecer el funcionamiento de nuestro sistema financiero, invertir en una infraestructura financiera robusta, en la cual la compra, mantenimiento y reparación continua de los cajeros automáticos constituyen una necesidad.
