I have always thought of how they come up with all this frozen chickens and turkeys we eat. I do wonder how they kill the chicken and the stress they had to go through before killing it.
I have always wanted to see the process of everything before they finally put the chicken in the fridge. The only thing I know was just to go to the store and get an already prepared chicken (frozen) then make my meals. I has never occurred to me that one day I will have to undergo the process myself.
So this was how it started, I went to visit my auntie at her place and you all know that as the youngest in the house, you have to do almost everything. After the warm welcome, I was told to make food for everyone after some days, as usual I thought I was at my place where I can just go to the fridge and get meat to cook. When I checked the fridge, there was nothing like that, I had to ask my aunt where I could get meat and she told me I have to take one of the life chicken and kill it.
I thought she was joking but she wasn't. It happens that they rear chicken so I had to take one but it wasn't easy trying to get one out. After I got one out, it was time to kill it, to be sincere, I was quite scared but I never wanted to show it out so I had to gather all the courage to kill just one chicken.
Though I was told how I could easily kill the chicken and after everything, it looked like I have been killing chicken before but I haven't. I used one leg to hold the chicken's two legs and the other leg to hold their feathers then I used one hand to hold the head and my other hand to hold my knife. That was how I was able to defeat the chicken 😂😂
I had to use hot water to remove the feathers and I washed it very well. Removing the feathers was quite easier than killing it. Though it took me sometime to remove the feathers completely but I did finish it at the end.
After everything, I had to cut it to the desirable size getting it ready for meal.
I will say those that work in the poultry or those that sells chicken are really trying because it's not an easy job.
