Namaste 🙏
Hope you all are doing great!!!
Greetings from the remote, Himalayan Village Shegli!
So, after meeting the Shepherd and spending some time with him, it was now time to get back on the track and head towards our village. As we were moving towards the valley, we were able to see more and more signs of human civilisation and we were approaching near to the villages that are on the way towards the Shegli Mountain.
Now it was my turn to sit on the back seat of the motorbike and enjoy the mesmerising evening with the most beautiful views ever seen in my life. The atmosphere was slowly getting warmer as we elevated down from the top of the mountain, and now there was no snow around us. Snow was only on the top of the mountains, and we could see those snowcap mountains all around us.
Now we could see some of the human constructions on the way and also spot some vehicles, although there were no houses anywhere, yet we could see some of the sheds that people had made for the cattle that they owned. One such can be seen in the photograph below.
Looking on the backside, we could still see the mountain from where we arrive back, and we also could see the darkness taking over that mountain as the sun was already down below that mountain.
I could also spot a sheep gazing on the side of the road, and that meant that we were quite close to the village, and now we could possibility see a lot of houses and cars around us.
This was the first house that we saw after a long while. We were really amazed to know that how people lived in such remote places of Himalayas. In the photograph, you can also see a lot of stones that are kept on the side of the road that is for construction of near buildings around the road. I must say that when these villages got connected to roads, the development started happening here afterwards.
I wondered how the people lived before the road as this place was on top of the mountain, and it could take all day to hike up to this place from the Valley down below us.
Still takes about an hour to reach here through the road, and because of that, the development is not that fast, but it’s happening at a steady pace. At this part of The Mountain, the network was back up and I could see 5G signals too.
Now we could also see a lot of Apple orchards around us and people working in the orchids. The main occupation of the people living here is agriculture and growing. Apple is the best form of agriculture that has the most benefits and great results. This place is adequate for Apple growing and Apple. That’s grown hair is one of the best Apple that India grows.
Because of that, only the vehicles that you will see in the photographs are all pick up trucks because the pick ups are the vehicles that can help in the agriculture work and also the transportation of the Apple to the market. That’s quite far away from here.
You could also see a method of drying grass and tying it on a tree to save it for the winters to feed the cattle in the photographs. That’s an old technique that still being used by the people living here. The people living here are really hard-working and are pure from the heart. They treat everyone with respect and dignity, and all the people that I met on my journey were so humble to me.
The side of the mountain had more slope than the backside of the mountain, and you can see that in the photographs, also. Because of the slope we could see to a lot of distance as there was nothing ahead of us blocking the view.
That’s all for today.
Thanks for passing by.
