Another season down and that is not all that is down.
Since I am not actively playing anymore it is kinda cool to backseat comment on how I think the botties should be doing. Although I think each does pretty well in their respective leagues so all in all I am not too concerned.
Gold with @Anyn99
In Gold is my main account with the bot from @Anyn99 who is now in the process of building a nice interface to control the bot. Aside from Archmage as mentioned before or possibly a self-hosted version I am not sure if there is a bot that could play my Silverish with a touch of Gold deck in Gold anyway.
Recent improvements for his bot is adding the use of stun ability etc. If you are thinking oh but why would you need to add the use of it, then ask instead if you did not know what stun did could you effectively use it?
As opposed to the DB backed bots @Anyn99's does need to know what the abilities entail because it is not regurgitating card selection.
Which I think is why it is more able to play similar to what I might do myself. Personally, I think I play better but obviously being lazy as fuck I will take a botty that over a season can at least pull in an average amount with an average deck.
Although I would like to hit Gold 1 or 2 a lot sooner in the season I guess for that I should start looking towards a simple rental solution.
Bronze Mates
on the flip side I also have my Splintermates account for Bronze. They both did quite well and do play backed by a DB of what everyone else plays so a pretty consistent result can be expected given you have at least the minimum required cards for the league.
My Wild @Splintermate account is the one I delegate to from my main account. Aside from that it uses no rentals and just plays Bronze Wild like a obsessive compulsive.
I do think @Splintermate can play Silver quite well but again I have no interest in dealing with rentals after attempting to actually utilize the rental system on Peakd for many many cards.
To be fair @Splintermate does allow 50 cards on their auto rental system to be listed but there are parameters like setting a Max offer value which kinda irritate me.
If you do the effort to through their interface fill the 50 card rental group then export to csv then I think at least I can build out a dynamic system in sheets to fill that on an assigned budget.
Even then a max offer value I guess can just be the same across the board because trying to manage which ones are only with 0.5 dec vs 10 dec is a pain in the ass.
Pro Tip. Do a search replace in the exported CSV (COMMA separated value) though for any commas and replace them with ; commapoints because it does not actually read it with comma values.
Anyway possibly for small things like filling this account with some Epics or specific summoners that is not so much of a hassle.
The above account is a new fresh out of the box no delegation Bronze Modern account. It was the one where my hate for rental management really got to shine.
I did however bite the bullet and twice took an hour to rent 100+ cards for it to play without touching ghost cards and also to be quite competitive.
However something as simple as rent all Ghost cards just does not exist. Aside from that using @Peakmonsters it baffled me that it was able to select new cards in a price range at times but at other times it lost the plot completely by having arbitrary not available notices and an inability to just take the next lowest card available.
You think I am renting because I have a choice? Take the damn card, no I do not care it is gold now. Oh the lowest price went up 1 DEC ? Take the fucking card please.
This leads to when you get to checkout there are so many removed from the list you might as well just start over.
My conclusion though is to buy a modern starter at the very least. That way I do not need to be dealing with much more than rent all epics and summoners and that can be done in less than 5 minutes.
Rewards
All in all I think my Wild Bronze made the same as a low tier Silver anyway. If you exclude potions then sure Silver makes more SPS in chests. I make more in general due to it being a bot in battle rewards.
Possibly that would be the reason to move up to Silver 3 but I am still dubious that better value on average beats quantity of chests in this game.
As for the Modern tiny bitch account with no cards and using rentals, I will try delegate it a base set to reduce what it needs to rent. Ideally I want it to just be auto but that will come in time.
It did get lucky with a Legendary but for the most part the accounts only job is to get me more cards. On that point both the Bronze accounts do their job and aside from that I will look to make it at least a 0 expenditure so no matter if they get 2 cents in cards it is 2 cents more.
Rising Star
I think I have been adding all my Starbits for a month now. I have also tried doing more smaller missions which do help break the 10K a day starbits boundary for me. Although that kinda overlaps so it is like more of a 10K average.
Now there are probably a lot of optimization I can do but I think buying more packs is not one of them. If I recall correctly I spent about 120+ Hive in the game excluding whatever I use to put back in from the game itself.
Benefit obviously is I don't need to put more in and can just keep adding to the liquidity pool for that little bit of ROI.
For something I tab to and click a button once every couple of hours really making $5 in a month is surely not to be sneezed at?
There is also the fact that it is still in the game essentially and not actually $5 it is merely about 160K Starbits tokens. Seeing as it is in the system and as with all of these things finding that point where you can actually earn from them is as hard as holding on to the dream that oneday you will be financially independent.
If I take it out, I don't have it anymore.
So life will dictate when that is a sacrifice I need to make.
Fortunately for now I can just keep building.
