PAINTING PROCESS:
This piece is made by direct observation.
I would like to use this opportunity to thank my dear friend Dario for patiently sitting for hours in order to help me out.
If you consider the character of the person you are painting, it will be easier to pick a medium. In this case, I'm working with acrylics. Bold, intense and saturated colors will help me to show Dario's extreme and vibrant personality in this painting.
His open and direct character is also telling me about the posture I should position him in.
After placing first colors, I am working on face definition.
Next step is to place all the shadows in order to achieve the perception of depth. I favor this stage of painting, because the flatness is gone, and everything becomes "alive" and vibrant.

And the painting is done!
