In the first photo, the leaf looks like a fan. The midrib and the veins look like the framework of the fan. This kind of angle has become one of my favorite shots to do. It's not my idea. In fact, it was simply suggested to me in one of my posts several days ago. And until now, I'm still pondering about it and how can it be applied to other types of subjects. So far, it's working nicely when applied to subjects that are translucent; like this leaf.
The details on this leaf were accentuated by the light coming from behind. Good timing to do this kind of shot is in the morning. Although you may also do it during noon, however, I feel like the subtle light in the morning give the photo a nostalgic look.
During this photo walk session, I also capture photos of insects. One of them is a Blue mint leaf beetle while the other is unknown to me. It's the first time I saw this kind of insect that looks like a hybrid of a mosquito & fly.
