Today I went to watch a recently released movie named 'Gold'. As Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar was in the lead role so naturally, expectation for the movie was raised high even before its release.

As critics reviews were fantastic. and this film is considered a hit. I being an ordinary audience member without any knowledge of cinematography and stuff could also judge the movie in certain ways.
Whenever any movie states to be based on true events, it ultimately gains much attention and audience. Gold being a movie based on true events gains a positive point. moreover it showed a glimpse to the new generation of the post independence era of India. based on hokey sport , the movie turned out to be good entertainment package.
The movie started back in 1936, during Berlin Olympics and won the Hockey match, but British flag was held high because then India was under British rule and the team was called British India. which filled the players heart with emotions and need for Indian flag, that bought the team and their Bengali manager a spirit of rebel. later for 1948 Olympics which was going to held after 12 years from Berlin's Olympics. and fortunately after 1947, when India got Independence.
The acting was amazing by the whole cast which made a movie look realistic and filled life in the characters. The songs, dance and little funny scenes with serious patriotism and fight for nation made it a complete package.

The story basically revolved around a Bengali manager Tapan das(which was lead role). who was patriotic and loved hockey. How he formed a formal hockey team for Olympics when there was no one who even cared. he visioned an independent India to win Olympics and prove its importance around the world. after so much hazel of formation of team, came India Pakistan Partition, which bought many tears and unnecessary deaths of innocents.
I will learn more about partition and will soon write an insightful blog on it.
Having a glimpse of what our ancestors have witnessed bought tears in almost every person's eyes. that was horrible experience.
Coming back to the movie, the team got destroyed but with the motivation and willpower Tapan Das was able to form another team with much much of hardwork and dedication.

Overcoming all the dirty politics and hurdles the team finally reached 1948 Olympics. The Indian team finally bought Gold for India and the Indian flag was held high with national anthem made every one fall in tears of love and patriotism of the wonderful country.
Although the movie was a bit boring in the first half but the second half took the movie in the sky of success. certain motivational aspects of the movie were
- The way the coach made the team learn unity, by asking them to shift the bricks from a place to another.
- The way Tapan das used his mind and made the team play barefoot on rainy day in order to gain friction on the field.
- The way manager did never left his hope and worked harder even after many failure.
- The patriotism and respect for nation shown by every individual.
Do have a glance at the trailer, may this would encourage you to watch the movie soon.
If you had aleady watched the movie do, share your experience in comment section else your views or certain additions if required, after reading this review.
