It has been a long time since I have been blogging on Hive and it has been a roller coaster ride all through. There are lessons I have learnt and still learning which have helped shape who I am to this day. Every time I am here, there are one or two things I keep in my mind and trying to never let it slip so that even when I am no longer here, those lessons will still be a part of me as I believe to help me wherever I go.
If there is one lesson out of the many lessons on this blockchain, it is being "authentic" to myself.

Hive Blockchain has helped me discover my values and priorities which has helped me act to align with them. One thing about this is that there are people I have come to know and admire their work here through their content, this has helped motivate me to do something new while learning from them. The questions, "How did they do this? In what way can I be better like this?" are what have helped me explore finding ways I could do mine better on the ecosystem and this is something that has followed me outside this platform as I look to improve more on what I know how to do while also prioritising some major aspects of them. Another thing about this is that it has helped me focus on my mission here which is to become someone better and take the best out of this amazing platform while channelling my time on what is most important. I try to focus on what makes me happy as I venture on them rather than getting worried about seeing others succeed than me.
Hive Blockchain has made me true to myself by identifying my strengths and weaknesses. Rather than pretending to be someone else, I stay true to myself as I try not to copy others. I look at where I could be good and try to stay on that lane and this has helped me grow into someone who doesn't act on others' abilities but mine. Trying to share my honest perspectives and being authentic are something that has stayed with me especially in my content, engagement (i.e., commenting) and building friendships and relationships. You know, there are those who, when they see others doing best in their way try to copy the exact thing thinking they'd be good too, not knowing they are only stressing themselves. I don't give myself unnecessary stress and so, I focus on my niche, strengths while working to improve on my weaknesses too.
Finally, I have learnt to find my voice and express myself freely in a way that people would understand me clearly. Everyone has different voices they use in communicating with others and I am not an exception. Thank God this blockchain has given us the free will to speak our voice and people are willing and waiting to hear us loud and clear. In this way, I am happy that my voice can be heard while listening to positive criticism from members who care to listen and this has helped me improve greatly, not only here but in my offline world.
This lesson is something I have held onto everywhere because staying true to oneself means you don't want to act on someone else's work but yours alone. You want your voice to be clear and Hive has given us that privilege. This is something I have come to realize and be grateful for as a blogger and outside blogging. I understand how beneficial it is for one to be authentic and never try to pretend to be someone else, this is something I want to continue with everywhere I meet myself and with people outside the chain because it is the only way that I can enjoy what I am doing and also maintaining my reputation and integrity.
