Auf dem Weg zum Hivemeetup Aachen

Heute und morgen findet das Hivemeetup Aachen statt. Ähnlich wie bei der Buzzparty Hamburg 2024 wird es am Samstag wieder Vorträge geben. Tja und ich bin versehentlich auch ein Speaker geworden. Falls ihr euch jetzt fragt, wie man denn ungewollt Speaker werden kann seid ihr hier richtig.

OMG, ich bin Speaker

Letzte Woche stolperte ich über den Post von Hive account@detlev zum Hivemeetup Aachen und dachte mir so bei lesen: „Wäre ja cool, wenn wir da auch vertreten wären.“ Unbedacht wie ich manchmal so bin, verewigte ich diesen Gedanken via Kommentar. Natürlich wollte ich das mit den anderen absprechen und ggf. den Löwenanteil der Arbeit auf Hive account@smooms abwälzen. Leider habe ich die anderen die darauffolgenden Tage nicht gehört, weshalb wir nicht dazu kamen darüber zu sprechen. Dann sah ich eine Erwähnung von Hive account@detlev auf meiner Smartwatch. Wahrscheinlich war ich noch etwas morgendlich umnachtet. Ich schaute dann später nochmal und fand die Notfikation nicht mehr bei Ecency. Am Dienstag erzählte mir dann Hive account@bechibenner, dass ich Speaker sei. OMEGALUL

Ein Plan musste her

Es wäre natürlich irgendwie peinlich jetzt noch abzusagen und Meetups sind doch auch coole Events mit hivestylischen Hivestylern. Auch war meine Anfrage wegen des Meetups doch sehr spontan und kurzfristig für den Rest der Truppe. Aber immerhin zeigten Hive account@thatgermandue und Hive account@bechibenner Interesse. Hive account@smooms im Prinzip auch, aber er muss leider Arbeiten. Zum Glück oder Pech, kommt ganz auf die Betrachtungsweise an, habe ich Ferien und könnte schon mal 2-3 Tage auf Meetups rumkrauchen. Aber es gehört auch Reise- und Organisationsaufwand dazu. Und etwas Geld verbraucht man auch noch. Am Ende einigten wir uns dann darauf, dass ich den Vortag halte. Und Hive account@thatgermandude und Hive account@bechibenner mich seelisch und moralisch unterstützen. LOOL

Jetzt musste ich mir noch über ne Unterkunft Gedanken machen. Freundlicherweise bot sich Hive account@thatgermandude als Hotelersatz an. Wir tüftelten dann den Plan aus, dass ich am Freitag Abend bei ihm aufschlage und wir dann am Samstag gemeinsam zum Hivemeetup Aachen tingeln. Dann verpassen wir zwar den Freitag des Events, aber Samstag sind wir dann voll mit dabei. Und das Beste, Hive account@bechibenner der später mit hinzustößt, bringt sogar HiQs mit. Das Event wäre fast perfekt, wenn Hive account@smooms jetzt auch noch den Vortrag halten würde. LOOL

Man muss ja auch irgendwie ankommen

Jetzt bereitet mir nur noch das Zugfahren Kopfzerbrechen (und der Vortrag. LOOL). Mit knapp 8 Stunden Zugfahrt bin ich ca. dabei. Beim Schreiben dieser Zeilen bin ich immerhin schon im ersten Zug und ich habe „nur“ 1 Stunde Verspätung wegen „Bauarbeiten“. Also drückt mir die Daumen, dass ich heute noch beim Hotelersatz aka Hive account@thatgermandude ankomme.

Notiz an mich: Statt hier beim Postschreiben zu prokrastinieren, sollte ich eher an Notizen für die Präsentation arbeiten. LOOL

On the way to the Hivemeetup Aachen

The Hivemeetup Aachen is taking place today and tomorrow. Similar to the Buzzparty Hamburg 2024, there will be talks on Saturday. Well, and I accidentally became a speaker too. If you're wondering how you can accidentally become a speaker, you've come to the right place.

OMG, I'm a speaker

Last week I stumbled across Hive account@detlev's post about the Hivemeetup Aachen and thought to myself as I read it: "It would be cool if we were there too." I thoughtlessly immortalized this thought in a comment. Of course, I wanted to discuss this with the others and possibly pass the lion's share of the work on to Hive account@smooms. Unfortunately, I didn't hear the others the following days, so we didn't get to talk about it. Then I saw a mention of Hive account@detlev on my smartwatch. I was probably still a bit groggy in the morning. I looked again later and couldn't find the notification in Ecency. Then on Tuesday Hive account@bechibenner told me that I was a speaker. OMEGALUL

A plan had to be made

Of course it would be kind of embarrassing to cancel now and meetups are also cool events with hivestylish Hivestylers. Also, my request for the meetup was very spontaneous and at short notice for the rest of the group. But at least Hive account@thatgermandude and Hive account@bechibenner showed interest. In principle Hive account@smooms too, but unfortunately he has to work. Luckily or unluckily, depending on how you look at it, I'm on vacation and could spend 2-3 days at meetups. But it also involves travel and organization. And it also takes up some money. In the end, we agreed that I would take the speaker slot. And Hive account@thatgermandude and Hive account@bechibenner will support me mentally and morally. LOOL

Now I still had to think about accommodation. Kindly, Hive account@thatgermandude offered himself as a hotel substitute. We came up with the plan that I would stay at his place on Friday evening and then we would go to the Hivemeetup Aachen together on Saturday. Then we'll miss the Friday of the event. But on Saturday we'll be fully involved. And best of all, Hive account@bechibenner, who will join us later, will even bring HiQs. The event would be almost perfect if Hive account@smooms would also give the talk now. LOOL

You have to get there somehow

Now it's just the train ride that's giving me a headache (and being a speaker. LOOL). I'm about 8 hours into the train journey. At the time of writing, I'm already on the first train and I'm "only" 1 hour late due to "construction work". So keep your fingers crossed that I arrive at the hotel replacement aka Hive account@thatgermandude today.

Note to self: instead of procrastinating on writing posts here, I should be working on notes for the presentation. LOOL
