sure, beats are nice-but CRAZY BEATS- that's much better. Here are some forward thinking electronic projects from the past for you to check out from my collection.
BS2000
"BS2000"
1997
"antitechno" SP1200 sampling project of beastie boy, ADROCK and almost beastie boy, AWOL. they made this by passing back hard disks to each other through the mail, i believe . definitely a bizarre addition to their catalog- really fast beats, bizarre samples and trippy layering make for an interesting listen...far from a pop album, that's for sure. i think this might be somehow a product of 90s rave culture but what do i know. they did another record in the early 2000s with a totally different "casio hardcore" sound, another interesting project, albeit a totally different sound.
IQU w/ Miranda July
"Girls on Dates"
1999
Some K record electro band collaborating with the Person that made that dumb movie where she gets catfished by a kindergartener. i always liked this song because its so bizarre, i think shes being interviewed on how to spell her name but is clearly spelling it wrong. Ive heard some of their early stuff i liked, but i found a later cd in the dollar bin a couple years back and thought it was basically unlistenable.
autechre
"cornfield"
2001
Legendary "out there" warp records duo that always succeeds in their goal of not ever boring the listener with repetitive rhythms. i still haven't heard the last one, but the one i heard before that was so good i thought.
u-ziq
"duntisbourne abbots federation technique"
2007
Sorry, I cant spell the project name correctly with my phone, believe it is pronounced like mu-ziq....At times mellow and ambient and also some 8bit sounds and beats in there, this project has evolved over the years although i have only heard a handful of their releases. i do remember there is a great planet mu 2xcd comp i have. i wonder if the title means anything?
I hope you liked my post!
