Hi, travelers of the world, how are you? It seems like this is my second post after a long time of not sharing about my travels. At that time, after I participated in a running event, I visited a waterfall with my friends. Purwokerto, a city known as the city of a thousand waterfalls. From the city center to the waterfall, it wasn't too far, because it's a small city.
My friends and I visited Jenggala Waterfall, where we had to hike first, maybe about 3 km? As someone who rarely goes hiking, I found it quite difficult because the path was quite steep, leaving me breathless.
But as we neared our destination, there were many beautiful sights—vast rice fields, a peaceful atmosphere, and friendly people we met along the way. There were also many small waterfalls, and besides accommodations, there were plenty of camping spots with stunning views.
We also took photos halfway through the journey to encourage me to keep walking until we reached our destination, haha.
Before entering the waterfall, there was an entrance with a slightly old-fashioned design that added to its uniqueness, as if we were entering a different, historic space.
There was a small waterfall inside, and the water was very cold but refreshing.
After passing the small waterfall and walking a little further, we arrived at the main waterfall, descending the slope via stairs. We saw the waterfall up close. This waterfall was magnificent and exceeded my expectations. The fatigue from the journey was well worth it for this view. I felt like crying at that moment.
However, since it had rained heavily the night before, the path was extremely slippery, and the water flow was quite strong, we couldn’t play in the water. It was a pity, but better safe, right?
We climbed back up and looked for a spot to take photos. This place provides photo spots and a heart-shaped pattern to get the perfect photo with a view of the waterfall.
After we finished, we decided to walk further and see the next waterfall, but because the path was getting deeper, more difficult, and slippery, we only made it to a post and didn't continue to the end, so we headed back home. With a total round trip of 6.7 km and a trail suitable for beginners, Jenggala is a must-visit destination when traveling to Purwokerto.
