I had some sprouted potatoes in my kitchen for a few days. They don't taste good after spouting, also they don't look very appealing. I was about to throw them off. But my second thought was, what if I plant them on the spare pot I have on my balcony.
And I did it!
It's been 10 days only but they are growing so well. I wouldn't say I'm very optimistic about harvesting. Because they took a long time. I would be happy to see them grow and have some more green around me. Also, potato plants can be eaten as a vegetable, so maybe I would do the same.
Let's see...
Spouted potatoes.
After 3 days.
I didn't put much effort before planting them. I had a pot left with some old soil. I even didn't nourish the soil because I had no idea growing potatoes and I was not hopeful.
So I dig some mini holes and place the potatoes accordingly.
After 5 days
I also didn't have any idea what the plant looks like. I planted some sweet potatoes a year ago, their leaves were very different from these. The sweet potatoes doesn't end up well, they got a fungus attack and I had to throw them away.
After 10 days.
The spouts grew in almost 15-16 plants and as you can see they are growing so well. I still didn't add much, just watering them regularly.
It looks like a success for now. But I know, by my past sweet potato experience; how difficult it is to grow potatoes in a pot. It's not as easy 5minutes craft shows. So I better get some knowledge from Youtube. But another thing is, the fungus attack; they will make it impossible.
Let's see how much I can do.
For now, I'm happy seeing the greens!
