I had a (planned) day off from doing any major physical labour yesterday, and I’ve decided to extend that into today (Friday)
After three days of walking and carrying/ dragging stuff and brash up and down hills my legs were really feeling it - they got a better work-out than with any run I remember going on, probably because of the extra load, and my upper body was a bit achy too.
Having a break now is totally rational - firstly it’s raining and cold, so nice to be back in the cabin where I’ve got my gas heater which I can just flick on rather than having to deal with starting a fire which would have been the case on the land, I’ve still got a lot of online stuff to catch up on (blogging/ marking), and a lot of mundane chores that need doing.
I need to be organised and ‘ahead’ with stuff in order to be able to put my mind on land things - so a halt to land clearance will yield faster progress come Saturday and Sunday and the following week. Not to mention the fact that my body is appreciating the rest!
I actually had quite a nice chill day yesterday - ended up crashing out at 17.30, waking up at 21.30 and catching a couple of discord shows - 's Discomfort Zone and then
's Post Up - usually I'm asleep by then, but both shows are worth checking out!
Back on it with Friday (which feels like Saturday!) and there’s quite a lot I feel I NEED to do before cracking back on with the land.
Priorities….
Sort out what I want to write about on Hive and LEO for the next 10 days
There’s a lot I want to write about, but I need an order!
Despite having so much to do with land, blogging and keeping up with Hive and LEO are an equal priority, there's never been a better time to keep up the writing with the Hive pump!
LAND PLANNING
I need a timetabled plan of what I’m going to do and when I’m going to do it (a realistic one!) The last few weeks have been great and all but I feel like I haven’t really been directed enough in what I’m doing - other than clearing brash I’ve spent too much time walking up and down hills spending an hour on ‘chore A’ and then and hour on ‘chore B’ - kind of pottering, and I’ve got too many bases - my car, my outdoor kitchen, my tent and my ‘house’ are all in different corners, and the main focus of land clearance has been somewhere else. I need to get one base sorted and a focused list of things to do!
Sort out my ‘useful bags’, ‘food’ and ‘clothes’ bags
Now I'm living in two locations I simply need to be more organised useful tatt (documents, laptop, lights), food and kitchen equipment, and clothes are the main things I’ve been lugging between locations - I need to tidy these up/ consolidate these and decide what I need to have two of and just keep the both in two locations. I’m a bit reticent to leave too much on the land because there is minimal security there. It’s too easy for a non-Portuguese person to walk on a walk off with my stuff! Of course security is a key land priority!
General tidy up of the cabin and myself
I need to sweep/ shave my head, in the reverse order makes more sense of course! I also need to sort the car out and my tools - it’s all got a bit disordered over the last couple of days!
Faffy stuff
I really MUST get my insurance sticker displayed in the car! And do a few money related things too. And I must buy a new desktop - almost losing my phone and now my laptop tracking pad playing up (I have mouse thankfully) mean I need a back up now more than ever!
'Catch up’ with marking and Revise Blog chores -
I’m not really behind, just on the margins of where I’m comfortable with - this is my main time-chore for the next day or so.
Practice Portuguese!
Unfortunately I've already failed here, I missed my streak on Duolingo yesterday and had to protect it with some gems!
Better get to it!
Tidying first!
