It had to be done, putting aside a day for the official launch of Chaos Legion, and pack openings.
I actually made a point of working yesterday evening to clear my schedule for today - which is a luxury I have, working for myself, so I did a bit of extra marking and wrote a couple of extra blog posts last night instead of today.
That gave me the time to be able to relax into one of my favourite activities - opening Splinterlands cards packs, examining the cards and generally feeling the vibe in the Discord and on people's blog posts.
What I got....
Well firstly the Dr Blight Drop..... nice to get 19 of these, and my guaranteed GLF...
Nice to see slow replaced by Camoflauge, a much stronger ability which gives blight some much needed defence, also more suited I think to his sneaky nature!
Pack openings....
I held back a little and so far I've only opened 50 packs (the server was down briefly for a period which helped!).
I opened 20 initially and ended up with mainly commons, but some reasonable rare cards...
I had much better luck with the next 30 having pulled 2 legendaries from those 50 packs and over all and over 10 golds, which I think might be well above the average!
Of course I did the obligatory card opening video too, which I'll post on 
Testing out some new cards.....
It would have been RUDE to have not given some of the new cards a trial run....
I'm pleased to say this resulted in a victory, but it was close!
Renting out some New Cards....
I put a few of the blights on the market - for 2.55 DEC each a day, the gold went for around 60 DEC a day, I have this feeling that these cards might well be in demand at Level 1 given the starting position of 2 buffs already.
We'll see whether economics dictates the need to combine a few!
Splinterlands - changing lives...
It feels crazy to have bought 1000 packs in the pre-sale in the first place, but it was a good Vest decision I think, I've already made back the money I used to buy voucher in the first place by selling my surplus voucher and some DEC/ SPS over the last month.
This opening one just had to be part of, it's the most significant development in the game since Dice were released over a year ago now, and everything since has been building to this.
I think the value of these packs and these cards is going to be solid going forwards.
What's next...
Well I'm up for phase two - I have 85K SPS staked and ready for 1000 packs in the next phase, near enough, then there's just the gamble on the main sale - whether I'll get my desired 6K packs total remains to be seen, but for now, I'm hedging my bets and going fairly large in phase two.
At the end of the day, it's the cards that have the value, everything else stems from them!
