His Big Goof
At sunset of the sixth day, he still hadn’t heard from her. He felt lost but decided to send a text message to her saying,
“Tee-baby?”
“It's been days now........and I'm still sorry for upsetting you.”
“I know I can't put a schedule as to when you'll forgive me."
"But then, even if I don't get to speak to you again.....I just want you to know that I never meant to hurt your feelings or wrongly read you.”
“I screwed things up with my carelessly thought and assembled words (but not out of ill-will).............and for that, I would live with the regret”
“As much as it hurts, I still think of you everyday........and I always will”
“But as you move on from my fiasco, please just find a means, a way and a time to forgive me”
“And remember me for the good, funny and pleasant times......and not for my stupid and irrelevant statements.”
“I know you can't forget it............but please try to let it go (at least, for the sake of this lousy guy who fell crazy for you, but found a very incredible way to screw it all up)”
“Do have a lovely day!”
He struggled with the last line. And wasn’t sure whether to end it with “I love you”.
Deciding against that, he clicked the send button, walked into the sunset and hoped for a reply from Thelma.
It took over ten hours before he got a response.
On opening her reply, it curtly read “Hi”.
