A few days ago I shared some pictures about a hairy fungus I found on the bark of an avocado tree. In the comments of that post, I told 
I shot pictures of it from all possible angles and through the Google Lens function, I was able to confirm that it is indeed a Hexagonia Hydnoides, however, the information on this species is completely limited.
Hexagonia hydnoides is a species of fungus in the Polyporaceae family. It is a plant pathogen. This fungus is largely saprophytic, decaying deadwood tissues. Wikipedia.
According to what I read previously through Wikipedia the presence of this fungus on the avocado tree could indicate that the plant is diseased and could eventually die. Currently, as I also told you in the first post I made about it, the plant has an abundant load of avocados but I do not know if the course of the disease can be stopped and whether or not it is affecting the quality and development of the fruit.
In this photograph, it is possible to see the area currently occupied by this fungus in the bark.
When I thought I had already obtained all the photos I needed I observed the formation of a new hairy fungus, this one is still very small but it is already possible to see its similarities with the previous one.

Hace unos días compartí unas fotos sobre un hongo peludo que encontré en la corteza de un árbol de aguacate. En los comentarios de ese post, le dije a
Le tomé fotos desde todos los ángulos posibles y a través de la función Google Lens, pude confirmar que efectivamente se trata de una Hexagonia Hydnoides, sin embargo, la información sobre esta especie es completamente limitada.
Hexagonia hydnoides es una especie de hongo de la familia Polyporaceae. Es un patógeno de las plantas. Este hongo es en gran medida saprofito, descomponiendo los tejidos de la madera muerta. Wikipedia.
Según lo que he leído anteriormente a través de la Wikipedia la presencia de este hongo en el aguacate podría indicar que la planta está enferma y podría llegar a morir. Actualmente, como también os comenté en el primer post que hice al respecto, la planta tiene una carga abundante de aguacates pero no sé si se puede detener el curso de la enfermedad y si está afectando o no a la calidad y desarrollo del fruto.
En esta fotografía se puede ver la zona que actualmente ocupa este hongo en la corteza.
Cuando creí que ya había obtenido todas las fotos que necesitaba observé la formación de un nuevo hongo peludo, este es aún muy pequeño pero ya es posible ver sus similitudes con el anterior.
